I have a dilemma. Going fo a night away to a posh hotel and having a meal in the restaurant there.

I have no shopping budget though and need to put together an outfit.

I have this dress
www.polyvore.com/monsoon_accessorize_tokyo_print_maxi/thing?id=6709226

I love it but I don't know if it is suitable for the occasion/time of year.

I have a lovey cream Monsoon sheer cardigan that looks good with it.

What do you think?

Would I be safer to stick with trousers and black top?

Yes go for it. Trousers and a black top dull

Ooh lovely. Yes, you'll look gorgeous. Why not pull out the stops for a posh hotel, big no to boring black trousers.

Thanks. I thought it might be a bit too summery but it really is a lovey flattering dress.Fell in love with it last year on How to Look Good Naked but it was sold out.

Then suddenly found Monsoon had them online again and lovely DH bought it for me.

Now I have a new dilemma - footwear to go with it.

I just might stretch the non-existent budget.

Thinking it will have to be wedges or flats.

Any suggestions?

I would go for a boyfriend style blazer and some chunky bracelets with it - cardogans are a bit pah and are the thing I think everyone turns to when they cannot be bothered to think.

A blazer will make the dress ok for this time of year (one with rolled up sleeves) and totally on trend. Asos have some very cheap ones in the sale.
