What is it?? Something tells me I need to be using it at night but why? Is it some whim I've picked up by osmosis on S&B?? Can you recommend me a good one?

Am 37, olive, not dry, not oily, no skin probs other than the inevitable age thing...

I use facial oil by Decleor, but I use it during the day.

Bio oil works for me.

It's fantastic.

For cleansing or moisturizing?

I have very dry skin and use a Ren cleanser that's oil based, it's brilliant, and everyone raves about the Shu Umuera ones.

For moisturizing I think the idea is that it is a very pure way to add moisture. I have to say after DD was born and the midwives said to use either grapeseed or olive oil on her skin as it didn't have anything else yucky in it, I started it on myself. Well, not olive oil because that made me feel like a roast chicken, but grapeseed. At 98 p for 500 mL, my skin has never looked better! But it is quite dry normally. And sometimes when I want to feel a bit more luxurious I use another product. The grapeseed oil bottle and smell-less-ness do not make for a Home Spa Experience!

The Decleor Aromessence range gets rave reviews!

My skin is v dry and I use either:

  • Bio Oil for moisturising (day or night); and/or

- almond oil for either cleansing (pour on cotton wool pad and wipe) or moisturising (day or night). No diff between almond oil that Body Shop sells in tiny bottles for lotsa motza or the slightly larger bottles you get in health food shops or grocery shops. Don't buy litres, though, as I find oil gets a bit rancid and off.

Also, sorry if way too much TMI but almond oil is also quite fun in the bedroom instead of KY as doesn't get all "ballsy" IYKWIM.

I just put bio oil on before bed. It's moisturising, I suppose, but it seems to do a bit of cleansing as well - it unclogs pores and things.

Honestly, it's great.

I use the cheap(ish) Sanctuary one - overnight, because it leaves me pretty slippery and shiny. I have dry and quite sensitive (OK: patchy, flaky, red...) skin and it is MIRACULOUS - pores reduced, everything softer and brighter.

Really want this Neal's Yard one when I have finished this bottle though...
