Okay I'm searching for the illusive pair of jeans. My favourite ever are citizen of humanity. Even the pair that are 4 years old still look good, (even though very faded)and fit where they should even if I've gained 3 or 4 pounds. My gap ones on the other hand, well I go through so many pairs but they get so tight after washing them a few times and uncomfy or are just to baggy after wearing them a few times. Make my bum look flat too.

Can't really spend citizen money on a pair of my top jeans but is it just a waste to get a £40 pair or are there some great ones out there? Heard a lot about topshop ones? I'm a classic pear shape, size 10.

Thanks.

check theoutnet.com and netaporter sale section for designer jeans with big reductions - just been looking this morning and there are loads under the £100 mark.

Re Topshop, I've had maternity jeans from them as well as skinny Baxters and they've lasted well.

But my 7 for all Mankind jeans are still going strong despite having been bought in 2004 and having had 4 pregnancies since then. So if you can get some discounted designer ones, I'd say it's worth it!!!

Thanks both of you. I think that's the opinion I'm coming round to LTEC. Got so many pairs of £30-£40 jeans that never last and look average but my citizens rock! Guess there is a reason why there is a price tag to match.

If you are pear-shaped New Look jeans won't be a good fit.

I'm reaching the same conclusion as you Mimi ... just got some Top Shop Martha's and Baxters delivered this morning. I have the skinniest calves in the world and it took me ages to get the Baxters pulled up .... how do people with normal calves (and I envy them!) fit into them? The Martha's are okay but they're a lowish waist and I think I'll be forever pulling them up. My old 7 jeans have just given up the ghost and my next 7 Roxannes ... it doesn't feel right to be crawling around after toddlers and cleaning toilets wearing them ... you get my drift . That said, I've spent the last half hour looking at designer jeans online - only thing is that with jeans i always find it better in store. Still, this looks like a good website www.revolveclothing.com/index.jsp?d=Womens. Haven't heard of it before but maybe someone else has? Will watch your thread with interest.

Last time I was in Costco they had some 7 for all mankind - skinny with diamante on them for 50 quid. The diamante was not too offensive - but they were all dinky sizes in Leeds. I ended up with some Levi's 570 straight legs - lovely dark denim, high quality, and nice fit - 30 quid inc VAT. I bought a few pairs (they also had lots of diesel ones, and Calvin Klein), took to loo and tried on, returned those that didn't suit. Though you need an honest freind to act as mirror !

I have never done the top end jeans - but I find the quality of denim in Next, Top Shop, New look not up to the mark - its like not 'heavy' enough! Though I do love my straight leg Uniqlo from 3 years back!

Ooh, I'm going to get myself to Costco once DD2 baby arrives. Never even considered shopping for jeans in there before!

Know what you mean Millie. I'm wearing my best citizen jeans today and just been pottering at home baking and splashing in puddles in the rain so covered in chocolate cake mix and mud from lifting up DD when she got too tired to walk. She doesn't know they;re my best jeans bless her but really could do with something for everyday. But then I think one pair designer versus 4 Gap ones equates to the same but I just look better everyday if you know what I mean.
