I wasn't sure if this should go here or in Good Housekeeping...I'll try here first!
We are hosting Christmas this year for the first time in years. Obviously I want everything to loook great but I am stressing about the dining table for the Christmas lunch. We live in an old cottage and so my decorations are mainly dark reds and gold, which complement the style of the house. Ideally, I would decorate the dining table with reds and golds as well. HOWEVER our 'smart' plates etc are Denby Imperial Blue, which is white with blue rims. It won't go at all with reds and golds.
So so trivial, I know, but please does anyone have any ideas for a lovely looking scheme for the table, incorporating the damned blue-rims? Whites and silver? Blue is not a very Christmassy colour, really...I'd change the whole lot if I had my way but DH would never let me!!
Thanks!
