...cos I've just bought these in purple and they actually fit my humongous calves! Love them - and it's 20% off everything there atm <<bounces around in fab new boots>> grin grin

I like those - chunky and just right the height.

How fat is fat though? I just bought Geox flat black riding boots that have elastic panels at the back - sounds awful but they are nice if a bit smart (I'm a casual dresser grin) - as I can rarely get the zips up on normal boots.

Don't suppose you'd be willing to give a ball park measurement?

TarkaLiotta Fri 20-Nov-09 21:40:05

Just measured them - 42cm around the top of the boot. The purple is gorgeous, much more vibrant than they look in the pictures. The brown ones look more like black/charcoal to me too [colour blind]

They are lovely, and all sold out in my big foot size sad.

Thanks Tarka, have just got a Petunia pair and they are a gorgeous colour.

Just need to find some skirts to go with them now grin

What are you wearing yours with?

hazeyjane Sat 21-Nov-09 19:18:10

Wow my calves must be a special kind of huge then, because I tried them on and couldn't zip them upshock, the purple ones are lovely.

Oooh, wow, thanks for the tip grin

Montifer Sat 21-Nov-09 19:25:06

They are 'snug' Hazey, especially my right calf which I never realised was bigger shock.

I'm relying on them stretching a little, hopefully that's not foolish, the purple colour made me buy them blush

Will certainly be trying them out around the house for a couple of days.

<<joins hazeyjane in the REALLY fat calves corner>>

Harumph.

AND the young male assistant told me his mum had the same problem, which REALLY cheered me up. sad

Am having to resist buying anything new to go with boots, have recently lost 3 stone but still have another 1 to go - which means I have fab boots and nothing to wear them with. Tsk. Watch this space though for an "I've lost 4 stone, come and help me buy an entire new wardrobe" thread grin

My friend (who wears lots of purple) drools over those every time we go in there -shes put them on her Xmas list

oh god I love fat face boots, decent, comfortable no heeled boots. Have been drooling over these for a while they are not black but a dark grey and gorgeous.

No dont say this , They didnt fit me and I was gutted

oh, I love those Libra

Slimcognito Sun 22-Nov-09 14:26:33

Thanks for the tip Tarka, have ordered a pair and fingers crossed they will fit.

Sausage I am keeping fingers crossed they are in the sale, they usually have quite a lot of their shoe stock in the sale.

well I was, just noticed size 41 is sold out

I have them in brown, they have hardly been off my feet since the beginning of October. I slightly regret not buying the purple though.
Now I want this dress.

Montifer Wed 25-Nov-09 13:47:47

Lady GP, have they stretched at all with constant wearing?

The 40 was too big and the 39 is snug on me, I love the colour but don't want to end up with a pair of boots which hurt my feet.
Should I return them or persevere?

Did consider going for the 40 with insoles but my gut feeling is I should buy a pair that fit perfectly.

Oh I've seen that dress instore LGP and really like it (unfort the 16month DS accompanying me didn't want me to try it on), I think it would look ok with skinnies and boots.

I have massive calves and these fit them. They are very similar to the Fat Face ones.

flossie64 Wed 25-Nov-09 13:54:35

Lady Gp - I too got boots from there on Saturday, And was dlighted that they are big enough for my legs.
I tried that dress on as well, but a note of caution , if you have any boobs at all its a no go ,as I had to go up 2 sizes to fit at the top. then of course the rest was way too big.

They have stretched a little, but I'd still hesitate to buy them snug. Go with your gut.
Flossie - I have 34G boobs so looks like that dress is a no go then!
Libra - hope you are not amply endowed then!

It's fine I have no boobs.

Tarka I just took delivery of these boots on your recommendations - love 'em! Thanks for the fat calf tip off!

Are all their boots fit for fat calves? I have fat feet too but the Tahoe boots were very generously cut...I wonder if the Libra ones would be too?
