Having waxing done on Saturday. Its years since I had one and the whole area is rather wild and bushy. What do I ask for? Want it sort of neat and tidy, some left in middle though, not baldy and a bit off at the top. Help me wise waxers. Also, what to wear, knicker wise?

I would personally give it a trim before you go as that will make it less painful - very long hairs being waxed - ouch!

She'll give you paper knickers to put on probably.

Ask for a good tidy up - i generally pull knickers up to show how much i want leaving at the front.

She'll then ask if you want some off the top and a tidy underneath.

Large gin and tonic beforehand. At least that what my sister says (I am too chicken)

my waxing lady trims the hair for me even though i don't have a brazillian. I can tell she's dying to whip everything off me down there .

They may have paper knickers for you to wear (mine always does, and I still fit in them despite being hugely fat and 6 months pregnant). If wearing your own, pick ones that aren't too tight and are easily pulled aside. Bring another pair for after in case wax gets on the first pair.

Would suggest ibuprofen rather than paracetamol, taken 1/2 hours before the appt. Good for reducing swelling and pain.

I never know what 'style' to ask for either, so usually just end up describing what I want as you have in the OP. They're used to it. Better to describe and point at exactly where you want the line to be rather than announce 'I want a Brazilian' (as I did my first time) when you don't know exactly what that entails!

Thanks everyone. I'm sure it will be fine. Don't remember having to have pain relief last time!

I did it without pain relief last time and wasn't too bad, despite expecting pregnancy skin to be more sensitive....if you didn't bother before, don't worry about it!
