Anyone have any clue on CFS-appropriate clothing??

Floral to blend with the displays?

I'm sure anything will be absolutely fine. Saw friend going there today in completely normal jeans and t-shirt.

wear nice but not party clothes. there is nowhere to sit and you will be walking around the whole time, so comfortable shoes. likely you will go for drinks or food afterwards in kings road. it will be fun.

I have never been and I am very

Here are tips from the website:

Top tips on getting the most out of your day
The RHS is always working to improve visitor comfort at the show, but to help you make the most of your day, here are some insider tips from the RHS on making your visit to the show as enjoyable as possible.

Arrive early to enjoy the show before visitor numbers peak- doors open at 8am.
Buy a show catalogue to plan your day and what you want to see - catalogues cost £5 (plus £1.50 p&p in advance). Consult the map in the show catalogue.
When the Main Avenue is congested, head into the Great Pavilion, or to Western Avenue and Royal Hospital Way.
Pre-book a table for lunch in the Rock Bank Restaurant, where you can treat yourself to a full three-course lunch. To pre-book a table call 0845 260 7000 during office hours.
Take a bite to eat outside the busy times of 11.30am ? 2.30pm.
Head for the catering area in the Northwest corner of the site by Creek Gate where you will find hot and cold meals from baguettes to jacket potatoes and ice cream.
Toilets in Western Avenue are likely to have shorter queues.
Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be on your feet for much of the day.
Bring a waterproof coat with a hood in case of rain, instead of an umbrella as these get in the way in crowded areas.
Do not carry large rucksacks or bags around the show with you - these get in the way of other visitors. If you are bringing a picnic or any large bags, check them into the cloakroom until you need them.

The availability of a loo is a priority for me

I don't think there's a dress code but I would use the opportunity to dress up a bit. Comfortable shoes, maybe a wedge, heels would sink into the grass, I assume there will be grass, lol.

There's lots of shopping opportunities

www.rhs.org.uk/chelsea/2008/shopping.asp

so you might want to tuck a Longchamps pliage or similar into your handbag for all the goodies, albeit they will be of a gardeny bent.

Have a fab time

wow!! thanks Woodmouse, that's brilliant.

I think I might wear that dress I linked to yesterday (the strapless maxi) with a denim jacket and metallic flats (pics of which are on profile)

that should do it, do you think?

I was going to suggest your new dress - it's beautiful - and the metallic flats and denim jacket will hit the note perfectly.

Flat shoes! Wedges at a push. That is the best advice I can give you.

Those flats are lovely - I was too busy admiring the nail polish to notice the shoes properly last time. I have a similar pair in dull gold from CL - wore them to Chester races a couple of weeks ago - standing all day - they were great.

when you sat CL, I presume you mean Louboutin??

Mine are Primark

I am wearing CLs in the pic of me in jeans and the frou frou top however...

Yes, Loubouton - half price but still eye-wateringly expensive. Hoping to wear them a lot over the summer. (and the next few summers)

I love Primark and am very of your sandals. I have not bought any shoes from Primark so far - I keep fondling them but I have very bad feet and can't wear heels so I tend to buy a few expensive flat shoes to compensate. My last few buys from Primark have been bikinis, underwear, T-shirts and a linen dress and linen wide leg trousers. I remember reading your post about your great buys in primark and the compliments they produced.

Love your CLs in the jeans pic. The trouble with my flat CLs, the red wears off immediately and there's not many places (one, 40 miles away!) that will resole them. With heels, it doesn't matter about the sole wearing off under your toes - you still get that lovely flash of colour on the protected rise part of the shoe as you walk.

LTEC, a maxi and denim jacket sound fine. I went last year and had a fab time, cruising around with a glass of Pimms, oohing and aahing over the pretty gardens THere is a whole mix of people and clothing there. Some are very formal but mostly people are quite casually attired.

You definitely have to have flat shoes though - feels like you walk for miles.....and you will have done.....so therefore you deserve another Pimms

Oh and make sure you find out where the outside broadcasting station is......tis a right laugh watching all the over-60's on "Alan-Watch", trying to get his attention and getting all giggly when he waves!

Have Fun

Have a lovely time!

? really? I was kind of about it ... sounds a bit ... dull and stitched up.

But if you lot think it will be fun then I shall don my gold flats and adorn my 22-week bump with my new maxi and I shall go forth and sip champagne (just one mind you) and have a perfectly marvellous time!!

Thank you!

I went last year
It wasnt super stylish
I wore flat sandals linen trousers and a pretty silk top and cardi.
Enjoy it is so pretty there, would love to go again!

No, it's not dull! I hope you do have a marvellous time. I went with my sister, we went and had tea and cakes in Peter Jones afterwards which was lovely. Can't remember what I wore, something very boring practical and unstylish. It may have involved an anorak. Your outfit is great (I did have a look at your pics ).

well, it was fun. Lots of lovely things to see, great people-watching, and I loved what I was wearing! Had dinner on the Kings Road afterwards, and a whole evening off from the kids. Until I got home and found hysterical 17mo ds, inconsolable bc of my absence, and dh trying to 'soothe' him by playing Wii with him at 11.30pm ....

So if you get a chance to go next year, I'd say do it!
