Hello all, I bought this dress and I love it. The thing is that I bought the 16 for my chest (38D) but it seems a bit baggy ( I wear a 16 top and 12 on the bottom normally).

Would you:

  1. Keep the 16 as it fits accross the chest despite it being a bit baggy round the waist and near the underarms

    or

  2. Squeeze your boobs into the 14 and know it will look better elsewhere but neat around the boobs?

Oh, and please don't advise me to try and get a different dress as my heart is really set on this one

    Thanks in advance

I would squeeze my boobs in.

Have you tried on the 14?

Could you get it taken in?

No I haven't tried the 14 but I know that it will fit as long as I can get it zipped up (according to the M&S website the 14 is 37.8 inches around the bust). Getting it taken in is a bit risky as the places that it is loose are a bit obvious so if it went wrong it would be noticable. I don't know what to do

If you took it to a good seamstress, they would probably be able to advise you on whether the areas you want altered would work. Would a wide (waist cinching) belt work?

Squished boobs is never a good look.

I wondered about a wide belt as well.

Its a really nice dress ... I saw it this morning in M&S.

I think keep the bigger size and try a belt/seamstress.

I dont really like that squashed in look either, especially when rolls of fat escape and spill over
