Bare Minerals - questions for those who use it - right colour

So, I was in Selfridges today and decided to buy some Bare Minerals foundation, as I had been thinking about it for a while.

The sales girl put some on me and it looked quite good. So I bought the whole kit, as it seemed like good value. I have fair skin, and so the kit I bought has "Fairly Light" and "Light". The one she put on me is "Fairly Light" and when I got home, it does look a bit darker than what I usually wear. When I was buying it, I did ask if there were lighter colours, and she said there was one, but it was too light and not part of a kit. She did put two layers on me, so I am wondering whether it might be ok if I just put on one layer. I could take it back, but don't really want to go all the way back to Oxford Street just for that...

Had anyone else found that the shades are a bit dark? I am not really pasty white - just dark blone with fair skin, with a yellow tone.

one layer will help also if you mix in some mineral veil that lightens it too.

I've had the same problem with the Bare Minerals foundation. I normally have to buy the lightest shade of any make but found that the "Light" in BM is far too dark and orangey for me. This is in spite of the sales girl telling me that it was perfect!

I also bought a kit (probably the same one) and have ended up just using the mineral veil and the skin lotion.

I found the Lily Lolo colours much better for me.

Sounds like you've had the same experience as me Badpups !!!
I hate that orange look.
