Is there a bag out there with a long (across body) strap that isn't hideous?

I can't find anything except old lady purses in the shops round here, so am looking online and still no joy. Can anyone find me one?

I don't really mind what size it is, anything from smallish bag to messenger bag size. I'd quite like leather, but given that my budget isn't huge, I'll settle for canvas or something. Has to be either tan/cream/navy or a nice bright red/blue/green, or it won't go with anything else in my wardrobe.

Please help me! I am beginning to look a bit tragic with my bald, stained, holey bag.

my sister bought me a nice tan leather (effect) bag from H&M which has a strap which can be extended - I wear it across my body when it's full of nappies, toddler cup etc and I'm out and about with dcs.

I have a small cream canvas one from FatFace, it isn't on their website any longer, but if you have a FF near you, they may be worth a look.

I have the Radley one too. Is the best over body bag I've ever had (also took off twatty dog but kept it in bag because it amuses me!)

i recently got a brown leather across the body bag from next, its a bit darker than tan and the strap is canvas, i was surprised that it was only £25 and is leather. I have a tan radley too but too scared to use it incase grubby fingers mark it, looks like it will mark easily.

Or how about a kipling? you can remove the silly monkey and i'm pretty sure they do a leather range rather than the almost student looking ones, which are still nice for casual days.

NFQ, that's actually really nice, despite not fulfilling my demands at all - will pop to twee cath kidston shop in town and check it out tomorrow.

The radley bag looks deeply practical and not too old lady like - i had one of their bags years ago and it wore really well.
at rip the twatty dog off.

Love the mulberry one, but too poor for it . Wonder if they have any in their factory shop... I go past it sometimes.

Ooh, Next, H&M, all shops I will have to check out next time I go to a proper town (my town has them, but all mini versions with hardly any of their ranges in)

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

I was on the same mission and found one in fatface last week. It's brown canvas, mid size (can get a nappy and wipes in it so good enough for me ) and has a funky floral pattern. Best of all it was £10 pound off so only £17 though couldn't find it on the website.
