I know some of you hate leggings! But really I am finding on me personally, with a nice long dress, you know anywhere from mid thigh to whatever, then 3/4 leggings are doing good things for me! They are giving me a spring in my step and make me feel nice and I am liking them!!!

So I have one dress to wear over them, I just bought it (NWT) on ebay, and its bloody got a little hole in it! So I will mend it but its taken the shine off a little and also it is only one dress. So I would like more please! Leggings are plain black, no frills. I am a size 18. Suggestions please?? I would like to buy a couple as well so if you have more than one keep them coming!

I have a couple of basic jersey dresses from H & M which look great with leggings. They are empire line. I like the basic style because you can funk it up with some fab accessories so you won't feel like you are always wearing the same dress!

Alternatively, Top Shop, Fat Face and Toast are all great places to find similar styles.

Thank you!

I am only just coming out of a style dark age and I'm not from this country so even though I have been here 9 years I havent been a big shopper & I live in a small village. So I dont know the names of a lot of these shops, MN is teaching me where to shop!

if you're heading to h&m i got a fab tunic dress there last week. £20, woven cotton, short sleeves, button front, bold floral print, there's 2 colourways, one bright colours the other black and white (the one i got).

h&m sizes are all over the shop, mind, sometimes generous, sometimes ridiculously teeny. the standard range goes up to a 16 and they do a decent larger range too.

I agree about h&m sizing - best thing would be to try on and completely ignore what the label says, as some of their dresses are great.

I wear a 16 in every other shop in the whole world - last week bought a summery coat thing, ignored the label and just bought the one that fit... it was a bloody size 20 apparently !!!

but there again, bought one of two empire line dresses and the 16 was actually ok. I think the problem is if you have norks. They don't do norks

ooh thanks mrsruffallo! I like that! And you think it looks good every day/day time wear? Not too dressy to just do normal stuff in? (can you tell I require some hand holding?) I love it though!

mileni, I wont be going in to a shop thats the problem. I dont drive and the nearest ones are 15-30 mins away so I could only go on the weekend when DH could drive me and our weekends are so busy shopping for clothes is a nightmare. So I am trying to do as much online as possible.

I agree with H& M. They ahve some great shirt style dresses with smocking just under the arms to create an empire line waist of sorts, and they look great over leggings.

this would look lovely with leggings I think, and this is surely made for leggings

h&m out then, can't understand why they still don't do online shopping.

No, they don't do online in the UK!
I would wear it in the daytime hereidrawtheline, but then I am quite an extravagant dresser.
I say go for it

I am as well!

the H&M website is very funny though you have to catch the clothes and make the poor woman on the treadmill change all the time! LOL

White Stuff have some lovely dresses at the moment that would work (also check out their Kaftans , as they call them, as some of those are longish)

I'm going to be on the look-out for some nice leggings too after this thread

go for it!! I am so pleased with mine! They are nice to lounge around the house in and look nicer than the sweatpants I normally wear. They are cheap and cheerful so easily replaced. Mine were £5 and £6. And they are very fun and stylish if paired with the right things! I am really pleased I thought you had to be a different type of person than me to wear them but I was wrong!

So far I have worn mine out with this dress I got on ebay the pic makes it look a little frumpy I think but it really isnt, and the material is lovely to feel it looks great but its gone and got a hole in it! I only wore it once!! Am very annoyed.
