What colour style do you like for your top and bottom or dress and what's your budget?

Hi Ruby, I looked and there wasnt much in my size. The ones that are, are very dark and not summer weddingy.

I tend to go for blues, browns or red/white/black type combinations. Happy to try something new.

I am only 5'2 though.

Budget is not too much of a problem as DHs family and I need to be very presentable. Ideal budget would be about £150 as then I could afford nice shoes and accessories.

Would a stretchy jersey fabric work?
That way it could accommodate your chest?

I always have to wear a vest top under wrap dresses.

Oh and my colouring is brown hair, blue eyes, very pale skin with rosy cheeks.

I could go for stretchy fabric as long as he overall look of the dress was posh

This may not be to your taste but just using it to illustrate the sort of dress style that could probably cope with a difference in size on top and bottom, it looks like the pleating may hold more in the top,

Oh and when I say 18-20 top, I have only just discovered this. I have been wearing size 14 tshirts snugly for some time . It is all norks though as opposed to everything iyswim.

samsonara - gorgeous dress. Not something I would usually go for and i would be very nervouse about they gapey front but. I do see what you mean about the gathering being more accomodating though.

Ruby - lol @ Miss Piggy. I had thought about getting bottom half altered if I found something I loved. I am yet to find something though.

this style may also work, as it can be altered in the waist area if needed

samsonara - I like that dress quite a lot. Only downside is tie neck (I can feel MILs frown already) and it is black which I was hoping to avoid as is mid-Summer.

Really appreciate your help though

What about something like these:
This

Nice style and would be easy to alter bottom

This one should be forgiving on boobage

Love this, could work

Literally loads on Monsoon, you need a good try on sesh!

Thank you Songbird Feel like a bit of a lump at the moment and I'm panicking that I will not cut the mustard when it comes to ILs wedding.

Lizzylou - top one is a bit bright for me [nervous emoticon], 2nd one is a bit plain. Love the 3rd and 4th.

Dress I found last night was [[http://www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion/Dresses/Garland-Dress/200686700?colour=purple this one from phase eight} but their size 18 is a bit small for me. Norks are 112cm.

Ooh Lizzy those are gorge! Monsoon are good for the curvy among us - lots of v-necks for boobage. I don't know about their dresses but I find their trousers too long, even the 'short' length. EV is a 5'2" pocket rocket!!

Mmnn, bit little girl summer dress, that one EV. My faves are spotty pink (could tone down with a wrap) and choc/turq monsoon numbers. Mind you, if I got the pink dress I'd have to have the matching mac!! If I had the money and legs of course, this is purely hypothetical

Lol Songbird @ pocket rocket.

I do tend to play safe and I'm a bit too mumsy these days.

The turquoise monsoon dress is my fave so far.

I like the bottom two Monsoon ones as well.
Can you get into a Monsoon to have a try on?
You could get some great accessories for both, I am similar colouring to you (no rosy cheeks unfortunately, always look v dull and deathly), and those colours would look good on me.

OOh, doing more fantasy shopping

LOVE this one

Not sure about colour and pattern but style is great

Maybe not dressy enough, but style could work for you

I just wish I was shopping for myself!

I have a monsoon not too far. It is quite a small one but I can definitely go and see.

If I did go for either of those dresses what shoes/accessories would go with it? Silver for the turquoise? Or would that be naff?
