Oh no! When did you buy it? You know you can return an item for whatever reason, no quibble up to 3 months after you buy it.

I'm sorry to laugh Mumsnut, but your thread title is just so middle-class!

(Hope you get a refund btw)

send it back. i returned last year's after a few weeks, it lost shape and went bobbly. i had also handwashed it very properly.

the merino one they had in between was much better, mine still looks new.

My merino one also still lovely.

The cashmere one was properly handwashed but has shrunk tremendously around the fitted part. It is also hugely static-y, and the skirt bit clings in lumps to my jeans.

My cleaner has reported two other clients with shrinkage and much bobbly-ness

I managed to rescue a pure woollen cardigan (not cashmere though by soaking it in tepid water with borax overnight then pulling it to shape whilst still wet.
It was big fat common wool though.

Opps, I have two, but not washed either. Surely if shrink after handwash they will refund, as not fit for purpose? Or are they dry clean only? I'll have to check.

I have one too as yet unworn.
I was going to wash it in a pillowcase tied up how I usually wash all my cashmere...

Will keep my fingers crossed!

They are supposed to be handwashed, no tumble dry, etc - as you would expect.

I really wanted one of these. I'm so pleased I didn't now.

I would dry clean on of these, how hot was the water you washed it in?

BYW, lakeland sell dry cleaning bags that you pop in the dryer so you can clean them at home. I'm not sure if they work though.
