I made a discovery today, wearing loose clothes can make you look fatter

I bought a jumper from Tesco yesterday (normal size) and the changing rooms were closed

I got home & tried it on & though 'Oh no this is a bit tight' DH walked in & said 'wow have you lost weight?' he went on to say don't lose any more & eat properly - because I have been poorly which is lovely

But can tighter clothes make you look slimmer and the reverse?

clothes that fit make you look slimmer

too-big clothes hide your shape so the eye assumes there is fat underneath

too-small clothes give a 'sausage skin' effect so the eye sees excess fat flurbing out the edges

re your jumper I might cautiously interpret DH's comment as 'Wow, that clings nicely over your boobs' though, and act accordingly...

Im quite a curvy (big boobed bit fat lol) and mostly wear a size 16 top because i dont like to flaunt my titties in tight tops if im likely to be with children- plus it leaves me wide open to pervy comments however if im going out and i wear somethhing fitted people do comment and one of my friends is forever saying wear something that fits you fgs!!

Nickschick - look at the clothes in the Bravissimo sale. Room for big boobs without being tenty or tarty

Yes loose clothes do make you look fatter. I see larger women wearing shapless clothes and it does the opposite to what they are trying to achieve. Well fitted clothes will always make you appear slimmer.

oh yes, these days to get the slobwear look of our youth you need to buy mens' stuff

erm...aherm...it WAS a mens LARGE top!..and im a 16 so not huge!..i normally buy womens 16 tops, but this was one of those uber trendy shops that use only half the ,aterial as if your not a size 6 you arent allowed to shop in them LOL

NB if it is a man's top and you are a 16 (or even a 14) then do not buy it as it will be the wrong shape - tight on boobs and baggy round middle

get a girl's one

Well - I wore it today & 4 other people (women) have commented - so it can't all be about my boobs
