Emergency sparkly top and jeans type outfit - HELP!!

Oh crap

It's our work xmas do on Thursday evening and I had my pretty floaty xmas party dress all lined up and then spoke to a colleague and it seems everyone is wearing jeans, heels and pretty tops!

I gave my sparkly tops away to charity when I was having a clear out when I was off on maternity leave and the only jeans I have are from Marks and the zip keeps falling down.

I can probably nip up to uniqlo tomorrow to get some jeans but where is good for a sparkly top that doesn't look really cheap? I am going to have to get something in my lunch hour tomorrow so have no time at all. I'm in my 40s and have associated bingo wings to make things even trickier

Aargh

Wear the dress anyway!

Can you wear the dress over jeans?

I don't think the dress on its own is suitable really. We're going to a pub, then to a cheap restaurant then to a club (eek) and it is very dressy. It's bad enough being years older than most of them, I want to blend in. Over jeans hmm? That might work

I feel stupidly depressed and don't want to go now.

Have you got a Debenhams near you?

Saw LOADS of sparkly tops in there last week, loads of them

Honestly, you will find something!

Look in the John Rocha, Julien Macdonald or Jasper Conran bit

I saw them last week when I was looking for accessories!

I struggle with zara and mango samsonara as have large norks but I will have a look if I can't find anything in debenhams. Have to return a top to uniqlo anyway so this is a good opportunity.

Now there's just the fact that my hair desperately needs cutting to worry about
