Gap sizes?

Anyone know how to convert the old Gap sizes to the new? I used to be an 8L in the Long & Lean jeans and get conflicting advice when I ask their shop assistants I used to love that I could buy jeans there without trying them on (it's the only place I can get jeans to fit me properly) and can't face having to take several pairs into the changing room before I find one that fits....

Anyone?

Yes a UK 12 but they have changed to inches now (waist size I presume)

I did but I had the gaping at the waist problem that I used to avoid with an 8L.... hope they haven't changed the L&Ls so much that they no longer fit me

I bought some the other day - I usually get 8 regular although I'm more a 10 R these days I ended up buying 28" x 32" in a slim/slight bootcut/slightly lowered waist style. I couldn't get the L&L to fit me at all although I tried a range of sizes. Perhaps try L&L in 27, 28 and 29" waist but look for x 34" length or even longer if they do it. Good luck, it's a pest when you know your size and then it all gets changed...

I have two pairs of L&L - both 32/32 (so I guess UK 14/US 10). One pair fits, the other (newer) pair is too big - around the waist and too long. Didn't really stop to try the second pair on until I'd worn them so I'm stuck with 'em now.

So I'd try a 30 and poss also a 28. That's just two pairs to try.....

Yes the 34" length is fine - it's the waist measurement that's tricky. Ok based on Bob's sizing I reckon a 27 or 28 should be right - and I'll try the curvy ones too...
