like the brown one

the grey floral will look nice with blue jeans

I don't like the red top, it's too tomatoey

the chocolate flower print would go with both

I don't like the stripy one.

Like the last 2.

lol at tomatoey - I wasn't that sure about the red one.
I like the stripy one best, which none of you like.

what about
choc cardi
same cardi in orange

I only like the grey floral one - but tbh I am the queen of black, so feel free to ignore me.

that's fine, I'm a mum - pmsl.
What sort of thing do you wear in the day?

No offence intended! What do I wear during the day? I might wear a dress over leggings or jeans, or layer a couple of long sleeved tops. I think the shapes of the ones you chose were nice, but prints a bit old fashioned.

hum, I am 36, I have basically worn jeans, t-shirts, jumpers - but cardigans nowadays, for my whole life. I am recently single. I want a change - but I also want to be WARM and feel comfortable in what I am wearing.

All grim, sorry.
The principles brown cardigan is the best of a bad lot.

My current favourite look is a long sleeved scoop neck thermal top, with a v neck jumper, or a wrap cardigan worn over it. Because I tend to like my knitwear to be 3-quarter sleeved (my wrists get itchy otherwise) I'm liking the softness of the thermal tops underneath!

Ok jeans t shirts and jumpers are fine but its the shape that dictates if they are square or modern. for example

something like that with a little cardi and some nice jeans would look a bit funkier
oui, or non?

cute cardi

Is it me, or does Kew stuff seem hideously over-priced? That's a pretty top but no way would I pay £34 for it.

Report
ChasingSquirrels · 01/11/2008 18:43

oh, that is so not me - although it is something I might wear for work.
Off to browse that site now.

Yes Kew is not cheap but its the shapes I'm showing, I can't afford Kew at the moment either so primark here I come!

Report
ChasingSquirrels · 01/11/2008 18:47

ok, so I'm not a Kew person.
I think I need to go into town, I'm not a clothes shopping person either!

Well, at least you've learnt something tonight! have a look in Primark..they have loads of tee shirts in different styles for layering and lots of nice knitwear, long belted cardi's etc for keeping you cosy. Happy shopping!

gap is good for casual tops, with a bit less frump factor than those.

or pick up everything you quite like in h&m, try all on - you might get some surprises?

I am afraid I agree with the no's..all a little average verging on the depressing. I couldn't imagine feeling nice in them. Nice suggestion from Mrsm.

nearest primark is norwich I think (I'm near Cambridge) so a bit far. I'll go into Camb next sat when ex has the children.
I do like the grey floral one from my original post though.
Thanks very much all.

I'm normally a jeans, long sleeve tshirt & fleece girl (well aging mum actually) as a practical outfit for dealing with DS (age 6) and 3 times daily dog walking. However I recently bought a couple of those tops that look like a shirt under a v neck jumper (but actually one item, never liked them before) from Matalan (can't find on website to show you). Not normally a Matalan shoper but at the price thought it worth a go and I have had several compliments .

I know this suggestion is a bit boring but M&S have great tops for wearing with jeans. They come in lots of sizes, wash well and are not expensive so you can treat yourself to a few at a time.

Grey one.

Mock layer.

Pink mock layer.

Stripey boat neck.

White ruffle front short sleeve shirt. It would also look cute under a little cardi.

Report
Amandoh · 02/11/2008 11:32

Having had another look at the white ruffle shirt it's probably best layered under a low neck jumper or cardi and not worn on its own. The fabric is just a little too thin and the seams look awful.
