even though dc hasn't actually arrived yet (overdue),i got an eternity ring for popping out dd (thinking my fanjo was on fire mmight have upped the spend limit on that one!!! ) but as we are officially skint i had mentioned previously to dh jewellery and the like was a no no now for our spending, but today when we were out mooching rould the shops, dh picked out a lovely huge slouchy radley bag, in a sort f pale petrol blue colour with a pale brown mustardy thick soft handle to sit on you shoulder!

Very yummy and i'm very happy with it! But can't have it til dc arrives!

It even came in a nice big boxy bag (not it's fabric protective bag but a radley shopping bag!!!!!
So, what did your dh get you to show their eternal thanks for popping out your dc?

Absolutely sod all.

Am yousaidit.

I dropped massive hints about diamonds even got to the point of showing him all my sis-in-laws jewels she got from my lovely brother but still nothing. I was on the verge of buying myself something large and sparkly but we then ran out of cash so will have to delay it. Bloody not on.

Anyway, lucky you yousaidit. Give your dh a big pat on the back. And good luck with new dc .

a diamond ring... I am now wondering if I can do a single one out of the wedding ring, the engagement one, the one before that and the one for DS...

An opal and diamond ring. I was looking at the photos of DD's first day on earth yesterday and thinking I look vaguely ridiculous in my slobby old pyjamas, mashed to the gills on the drugs, hair all over the place but wearing a big cocktail ring.

Koshka you made me spurt tea all over my keyboard . Bloody Husbands .

Honestly I really do think they should buy something. One gets a diamond for just getting engaged, for producing a child surely we deserve something better/bigger/more costly. Surely it's only good manners. Hrumph.

I got nothing for DD either despite major hinting (and a dreadful birth). This time round I've put some money aside and will buy MYSELF something if he doesn't (ahem) deliver .

Koshka I didn't even get a balloon - and inadvertently mentioned this to a colleague recently and so she asked me the other day which hospital I was delivering at this time. I asked her why and she said, "for your balloon, of course!" Bless.

I got Sweet FA for both babies!
I got Sweet FA for the last 3 birthdays!
I got sweet FA for the last few christmasses!

DP is scottish. Does that explain anything?
He says the scottish are tight, but I don't know if he's just using that as an excuse.

Still pissed off though!

For babies, I can kind-of understand it, as I don't think it's quite as traditional as other occasions - but birthdays and Chrismasses as well?!!! Dee I'm a bit . Do you go out and get yourself something?

My dh is good at presents - just tends to go and shop for them at inconvenient times! I have simple gold bangles inscribed inside for each one "For ......." and DOB. No. 2's twin died at 24hrs so he had 2 linked bangles made. I don't wear them a lot but they are very special to me.

Bugger all for DD, he lost his job just before she was born. This time round I want diamonds though. He has been TOLD.

bugger all

if I'd known it was the norm for some people I would have told him.

And he would have larfed.

He brought me a tuna sandwich

He did have a little weep though at how clever and brave I was and how beautiful dd was, so I kind of forgave the lack of sparkles

Nothing, nadda, nowt.

Am hugely of your Radley bag.

I have mentioned it this time as some of the moms at toddlers were comparing eternity rings

Mine should be HUGE and have 5 blue stones and 1 pink one, soon to be 2 pink ones. Not sure how that is going to fit on a rock.

Answers by link please and i will show him later

DH - nothing, PIL's bought me a mahoosive bouquet with a "thank you for our granddaughter" card.

Must make sure to have this thread open tonight when DH decides to read over my shoulder as usual.

DH got me a McDonald's coffee.

Think he felt suitably shamefaced when MIL and BIL visited with presents for me as well as for newborn DD.

Still no blardy ring though.

I got a channel set diamond eternity ring for my first and then a 3 stone diamond ring for my second.

Got sod all for my third though.

No I tell a lie. I got a hot bowl of homemade chicken casserole which was much appreciated after giving birth.
