Is there such a thing as funky knitwear?

All I can find is either really boring or looks like I made it (not a good thing BTW).

I'm not sure what I'm after other than something that is a little bit chunky, preferably with wide sleeves and maybe a cowl (spelt?) neck. I want it to look good with jeans and boots.

Colour-wise: navy, cream and autumnal colours, but I prefer block colours to patterns.

It doesn't even have to be a jumper - a poncho would be cool too.

NOT a cardigan though, unless it doesn't have buttons as have a phobia to buttons (I know... i know...)

Haven't thought about ££. Don't really want to TBH so I won't until I have to!

Can the MN fashionistas help?

Will watch this thread with interest

Hoppybird - they're really pretty, thanks for those but I'm looking for something a little chunkier and no buttons.

I think generally speaking chunky knit is not flattering

I have also ordered this as I saw it in this feature but will see what it is like when it arrives. Don't think I will be wearing it with just pants though!!

I've just bought this in store, works with jeans, skirts, trousers, long sleeve tops underneath, fits under my fleece/waterproof coat. Wanted one in a mustard colour but couldn't find one anywhere. It has about 6 large poppers that click together, asymetrical and looks good fastened or unfastened. Not 100% acyrlic either as I'm not a fan. Chunky nits do work on me cause I'm a pear shape and need bulk/detail on top.

Dexter - you'll be warm enough in just pants but only if you've got your Peruvian hat on though!

I like lots of these but most of them have buttons on and I know this sounds bonkers but I can't wear anything with buttons on. I don't possess a shirt and can only just cope with them on trousers or coats. I can't explain it, it's just one of those odd things and as phobias go it's a pretty impractical one.

Flutterbye - that is gorgeous. Are the arm holes quite snug or is there room for manoeuvre?

I like this. They also do fair isle one which I like but it wouldn's suit me

I've tried it on with long sleeve cotton jersey tops on, they fit fine, and I'm not the most slender armed person. Also I'm usually a 14 but ended up buying the 12 'cause it was a better fit for me.

I love the Toast one. Normally find Toast catalogue very depressing, but this one is very nice. Might get actually.

You think, pointydog? A bit shapeless? Maybe with a leather belt rather than the self tie one.
similar from laura ashley?

Grey chunky knits sends shivers down my spine. Liking the Laura Ashley one though.

How do Toast get away with sewing together old seed bags and charging an arm and a leg for 'em?
