Eight Hour Cream - what the feck?!!

LaVieEnRose · 30/08/2008 19:03

Bought it today on an impulse because I've heard so many times how good it is.

Good for what? It's very sticky! I thought it was some miracle cream that you slathered on at night and you woke up looking like Keira Knightley!

Apparently it's just to put on chapped lips?

Pah!

lansinoh is cheaper and has the same effect.

apparently it's good for cuticles, too.

they're really good for chapped lips, cuticles and scrapes that are healing up (so is BioOil).

poor horses!

they had to endure that vile smell and couldn't even tell her how obnoxious it is.

hadn't she ever heard of bag balm?

Here's cynical for you. Lansinoh - usually sits in the baby section at Sainsbury's. yep, there it sits all year round.

Except when the 1/3 sale is on, and then suddenly goes to the pharmacy section.

Bought a ton of it when the 1/2 sale on baby stuff was on earlier this year.

i need to pick up some for this baby.

i used about half a tube with DD2, and then used the rest on my cuticles and lips .

...is good for patting lightly on cheeks in icy cold winds we used to get in the winter..........vaseline does much the same thing, tbh.

Valuable (or expensive?) lesson learnt, I think.

In JOhn Lewis' magazine- the Source- latest tissue- 8 ht cream has been voted THE best skin cream of all time ( by whom I don't know.)

I have got some- was given it- good for cracked skin on feet but too sticky and smells like antiseptic, to use any where else.

best skin cream - for horses. Great for those sore hooves

best skin cream, for burn victims.

seriously, it honks!

don't feel too bad, though, i think a lot of us have learned the hard way what rubbish it is.

fortunately, i learned in the US where it's quite a bit cheaper than here.

i've learned similar lessons with Great Lash mascara and Touche Eclat.

It's not too bad on my lips, bloody expensive for a lip balm though!

See, thing is, I blardy love it. When sitting on a plane, its the only thing that will mean I don't look like a flaky mess at the end of the trip. And it deals with manky eczema outbreaks etc really, really effectively.

I do use Lanisoh on my toes though..

it does help overnight if you have VERY dry skin though. But I wouldn't bother unless you look like Davros [as I do].

it's a good substitute for Vick's or Olbas oil, too, if you find yourself bunged up and out of either of those products.

So is Lanisoh really really worth it? Everyone keeps banging on about it. 37+6 pg with DC1, want to bf, keep seeing it in Boots, but is 4 times prices of Boots nipple cream!
