Am going to Ibiza in Aug with my stick thin child free girlfriends and need some ideas on what I can wear now I am a bit bigger and have a mummy tummy.

I'm size 12/14, good legs, bad tummy and upper arms, need going out clothes, ideally dresses.

What kinda shape are you, and height?

i went with my mate last month and no one notices what you wear at all! you could walk around in a bin liner bag and no one would bat an eyelid.
there was alot of people wearing those short shorts, black ones with nice tops.

but do you really want to cover your arms? it will be roasting.

I'm 5ft5 and an apple! I normally have an ok hourglass figure but am heavier than normal and it seems to be mainly on my tummy!

I know nobody else will care what I wear but I know I will when the holiday pics are back! I don't necessarily want to cover my arms just noting that they aren't great, even a small cap sleeve looks better than nothing.

Just stick to cotton dresses that are lovely and light and empire line. I like the little dresses with the stretchy bit over the chest and little tie straps - lots of them for a fiver in H&M at the minute. It's hard covering your arms whilst keeping cool too. Maybe get yourself a little cotton cardigan type thing?

Are you daring a bikini or sticking to a super fantastic hold it all in cossy?

Get some nice linen trousers, you can get these for £6/£8 in Primark. (If you're a Primark girl, like myself). Get some lovely smock type tops that are really light that you can just put a little vest top on underneath. Can you get someone to look after your LO whilst you treat yourself to an afternoon holiday shopping?

Oooh I like that new look dress, think I need to pop into town and go try stuff on [groan] was hoping I could just order stuff but I think I need to properly shop. Am off to France on Sunday so might see if I can find anything over there too!

My arms probably won't look too bad with a fake tan and bit of real sun. Do you think you have to be really petite to do totally strapless?

Haven't even thought about bikini vs cossie. Not sure it's fair to inflict my stomach on others!!

Go for a bikini - it's bloody hot and also it's great to just have on under a dress.

strapless is fine in my book as long as it fots ok on the bust.(plus side is you wont have any kids pulloing you about and pulling it down
wear a bikini! dont be shy! i am a szie 20 and wore one while i was there. everyone was wearing them, all shapes and sizes.

Those dresses are both polyester; you would roast in them. Go for a bikini; size 12 is slim!

How old are you and are you clubbing, or going for taverna type evenings out? If clubbing, I can't help you!

What sort of places do you usually like to shop in?

topshop NOW
definitly go for something sheer, but with a loose dress underneath, a maxi dress is a must too and gladiator flats.

Oooh that kaftan is nice mama! Am a bit too cellulite-y for short shorts although I think they look fab.

Am 21 and going for mainly clubbing although will have a quiet night - am only out there for four nights. Am I not too short for a maxi dress? Only seem to see them on tall skinny things!

I usually shop in Topshop, Urban Outfitters, All Saints, Reiss and boutiquey places. I just normally have a good budget when shopping for things but since baby my disposable income has obviously plummetted so need to buy more carefully so that I get use out of it.

Think I'm going to go in to London and hit Topshop, Primark and New Look and be done with it. Oh and H&M, thanks for reminding me, I always forget about them.

You're right - I'm being a bit silly .

My friends are all stick insects so since having DD am more than a little insecure around them. I do have good boobs though That and they insist upon taking hundreds of pictures that then haunt me on Facebook forever and ever.

Crazy golf and bed sounds right up my street

I'm 26 and I think even before DS came along, I'd have chosen crazy golf and bed over hard clubbing, ha! I'm quite boring like that.

Just checked out your profile, you're stunning - absolutely nothing to worry about with looking lovely next to your friends.

I'm a stick insect, and honestly I'd love some curves. Just embrace what you've got and those extra curves are there for a reason. Happy shopping!

what do you use to colour yours? i looked of ages to find one but didnt want a permenant colour, not till i have done it at least once!

mamalovesmojitos · 25/07/2008 18:15

perfect. the skirt and strap tops can be shoved over your bikini after the beach.

i am so jealous. would love to go to ibiza but i'd say it's so expensive! i'm not even the biggest dance music fan but i do enjoy a night clubbing here and there.

i am just back from portugal so i suppose i cant complain too much.

wedges are a must for clubbing as they are way more comfortable than heels.

Report
lizandlulu · 25/07/2008 18:26

its not too expensive. it cost me £314 for a 3 night stay in a 4 star hotel in san antonio bay, inc flights taxes etc.

i wore primark flats for clubbing cause i didnt want to ruin any of my good shoes! so what if i look like i have stubs for legs i was comfy!
