... I could possibly get to Edinburgh, Perth or Glasgow but the hassle involved I would almost prefer to order online.

Any ideas gratefully received.

www.joulesclothing.com/product/Womens_Dresses/E_PRETTYPARTY.htm
This is predominantly cream and the fuschia on it would match the coat or this

Thanks mummyinred. I've just spent about 4 hours on the phone to utility companies and banks so that is really helpful!

I like the Debenhams one, although it probably doesn't go with the frock-coat ...

And the Phase Eight one, but unfortunately the lacey bit won't work under the coat either. I think it will have to be plain as plain ...

ok here's something simpler www.frenchconnection.com/product/womens+dresses+in+the+colour+WHITE/71B7Z/Superchick+Dress.htm or if money isn't a problem www.net-a-porter.com/product/33342 or there's thiswww.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_66853_655785_-1 or if you don't mind the fact it's marketed as a wedding dress and isn't cheap this might be goodwww.monsoon.co.uk/invt/25202941

Could you do strapless?
This could be fab, but only available online in an 18.

Linen?
Possibly not posh enough also 'stone' rather than cream.

The House of Fraser might be the best (thank you ChanJackieTN). The coat is so OTT that the dress has to be quite plain.

Now I have to find a spare hour to run out and find it.
