I do feel a bit gutted about this but sort of knew that was the way I was going!

I do need to lose some weight (am not really podgy but a couple of stone would be great.) and I am loathe to buy clothes til I am slimmer.

So, this is my lifestyle.

Am a SAHM with a 6 and 3 year old.

No hobbies. Help at school a lot and like to look smart rather than too casual as I am looking to get a job there too. I am 5ft 6 with big 36DD boobs. Mousey blonde hair.

Want to look yummy without too much effort esp at weekends when DH and I do things with the boys.

What should I be wearing? Is there any hope for me?

I am 37 and frumpy!!! Arrrrrrrrgh!!!

what do you wear at the moment?
swap trainers for boots.. raincoat for jacket..
abandon sweatshirts and trackie bottoms..

do these apply?

Oh, dear you walked straight into that one!

Why don't you have any hobbies?? You need to get out and get some self esteem and not rely on your OH for this.

I've started a thread in Style in Beauty about how to look elegant....haven't got very far with it atm though.....you have my solidarity though...

Elegant would be good, I've ordered a back copy of a mag that 'tells you how to do it, here's hoping!

Calzone, feel pretty much the same as you, have recently tried smartening up, bought couple of smartish tops to go with jean, always wear them but looking out for trew, nice jacket as opposed to big coat, had hair coloured, little things like this have made a difference. Oh, and like you I need to get a hobby, am thinking keep fit classes at the moment in the hope of making some chums.

Firstly... Never ask DH such a question. What does he know about it?

Secondly.... Get your hair cut when you can, wear make up, wear jeans and jumper / top, wear jewlery (a little). And wear it with confidence.

OP - lose that weight . Nothing is better for looking glamorous than being slim and healthy. And get a great hair cut (and wash/style your hair every morning).

"Want to look yummy without too much effort" - wouldn't we all like to? Yummy = effort...

In the mean time, get yourself moving by buying clothes/accessories that aren't dependent on your weight - boots, bag, winter coat, scarf and hat.

Start wearing boots with heels, trendy jeans (ie dark), fitted/stretchy tops. Get your hair highlighted and trimmed.
put on your make up quickly in the morning (me: bare essentials foundation, eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss)
Sorted, also get an ATTITUDE and STRUTT!

Oh dear, bet you are gutted, not a nice thing to hear.

Ive always dreaded the thought of being called frumpy or mumsy, which is now why i look like mutton dressd as lamb

I would suggest no slouchy tracksuit type clothing(if you do wear them). I never, ever do. Even when pregnant. Try nice jeans, i think they can be really comfy if they fit well. Its only when they are too tight that makes people think they are umcomfy. Maybe a v-neck thin wooly/cooton jumper/top(ok with big boobs. Boots or shoes with a bit of a heel. You are not short so wouldnt need too high.

Bit of make up every day. Maybe tinted moisturiser(if skin ok) or bit foundation, mascara, lipgloss, blusher.

Highlights defo for mousey hair

Im 37 too by the way
