<big sigh> All the Scottish MNers are going to think I am an enormo-frump

I HATE all the eveningy sort of clothes in the shops. I just hate them. They might look good on other people but they are so NOT ME. I looked hideous in the 80s when I was a skinny rake so i am not going to look much better in the same clothes now I am a 14.
I really want to wear jeans to the meet-up.
But since it seems to be not on, pleeeeeeeze help me, what can I wear?
I don't do sleeveless on acct of fat arms and also I get freezing cold. I do not do metallic or sequins. I like Fat Face and White Stuff but have no idea how to dress for the evening.
HELP
(PS I have a pair of black ankle-strap high heels if that helps.)

Black jeans, high heels and glam top and you will look fab

Much as I'm not a fan of Victoria Beckham she said once that women look best in jeans and a top.

Mind you, I think they have to be good jeans, a sexy top and high heels.

Wear the jeans - I would.

Prunie this is what came up on google images under frump

Nothing under enormo-fru,p though.

Seriously though, we need to stop pissing around and help Prunie.

And me. Because I am hopeless at this clothes malarky too....

Do wear jeans if that's what you want - or maybe black trousers? And a top like this?

yelnats · 04/12/2007 21:38

Wear jens if its what you are comfy in. My pal is about an 16/18 (likes to think shes a 10/12 though) and she wears black skinny jeans and looks fab in them. Honestly!

Another possibility?

If you will feel happier/comfier in jeans wear them. There's no law to say you have to wear a dress or owt.

Was gonna wear jeans too but friend persuaded me to buy a dress and i am shitting myself now. I just don't do dressing up lol

Oooooh, look. I'll be wearing my fancy new Christmas name.

Report
Prunie · 05/12/2007 09:07

OK, wrt JackieNoel's top there - isn't that a bit of a day top?
I truly don't know how to do evening things. I keep looking at lovely things in shops and thinking - but that's for the daytime. I basically don' know what the difference is except, atm, spangles, metallic fabric, sequins or hideous knitted gold sweaters.
Or doesn't it matter?

oh naily you always say the right thing!
I will go shopping
I have to admit if jeans are "allowed" it is a huge stress off, unless someone can come up with £££ and a personal shopper.....

Pruni there's no point wearing something not you, you won't be comfortable or be able to relax. I think jeans can look great with a nice top and shoes. (And I am sure you are not an enormo-frump!)

Prunie - do you want to meet up and go shopping?
