I have one, in a twenties-ish kind of way - really like it, but then I have embraced my curls after years of envying sleek straight-haired girls

if you are going to straighten it, it will be a LOT of work, I have a bob and it takes me up to 45 mins to straighten it, as I have thick wavy hair.
If you are going with the curly, I think it can look quite nice, if you sort of scrunch dry it, but it might look a bit eighties.

is your hair fine or thick, tight or thick curls? how long is your fringe? bob could give you triangular hair, would that suit you?

quiet thick and fringe in need of cut comes down to my nose!

why do you straighten fringe?
am curly myself, v fine hair with medium curl and have found best thing is to keep it long, can have bun or pony or loose. haven't been to hairdresser for two years (ha dp has just walked in and said hair looks nice)

triangular sort of look. Mine used to be like that, when I actually embraced my curls! could probably style it like that still if I wanted to.

what shape is your face? It can eb great for balancing a longer face like mine, but not so good on a rounder or squarer face.

i have a graduated bob... it's longer at the front than the back, that way i can still tie it back (when i can't be arsed!) carefull though... i've had a couple of triangle shap3ed disasters, not a good look

how curly?
I'd immediately say no to asymetric for curly hair .. it has its own flow and asymmetry really needs sharp angles

styling hmm not so good at that, kinda of want a wash an dgo style! which everyone says oh your so lucky with curls you can just wash it and leave it, well i want to believe the hype!
Face shape hmmmmmm well round i guess, its nto long and thin and have a large nose, well i think so!
why do i straighten my fringe, because i scrap the rest abck into a tight pony tail and like the look of the straight fringe rather than the three ringlet look. but i am now ready to stop running and hiding my curls and i need a style to help me do it!
i'm going back to my old hairdresser who has always doen a good job.
So colour decided, very dark brown just the cut!

kelly that is v nice but lots of work for thick hair. you are dead right, shorter curly hair just isn't fashionable now, so it will always look 80s. try not straightening fringe and different styles katzg.

by assymetric i meant short at back longer at front, so that the back is cut to my hairline but front is between chin and collar length, does that make sense?
would love to see more pics of styles

x post k, but good for you to try free curls before hairdresser. put extra conditioner in, only comb it when wet and see how it comes out.

Katz, I have curly hair and had a cut like that about six months ago it was lovely. Sadly I didn't get organised to go back to that hairdresser for a few months - when I finally rang for an appointment discovered he'd left the salon!

look at the second picture of natalie imbruglia
here , what about that sort of thing, a tousled, textured bob that isn't ironed flat, but isn't crazily curly neither? That would be easily to style, blow dry then run some wax through to get the texture.

its what i want shape wise but with more curl.
the problem ont he curl front at the mo is that my hair is too long to curl very well but my fringe does!

yeah, easily. If your hair is wavy like that naturally, you would fine it really easy. Mine looks a bit like that, if I leave it to dry naturally.

you jsut blow dry your fringe smooth though.
