I'd put money on it being professionally blow dried every day. She Spends an absolute fortune on her wardrobe and sunglasses so I'm sure George coughs up for the hairdresser too

She's not "a world famous lawyer" in the sense that she had any fame as a lawyer pre-Clooney. Prior to when she started dating George Clooney no one in the law had ever heard of her. She had never been in a reported case as an advocate and a search of her name on legal databases brings up zero cases (prior to her involvement with Clooney). This is very VERY unusual as in the modern world most High Court and above cases are now reported or recorded on databases. Most junior barristers will be in at least one or two.

The Clooneys just have absolutely extraordinary PR. It's fair to say that since her involvement with Clooney she has been brought in (as a junior) on high profile political cases to attract publicity to the cause. But this is a function of her new high profile purely as a result of who she married.

By way of example, it is often said she represented Julian Assanage - based on a photo of her outside a magistrates' court; whatever she was doing it wasn't the advocacy not least because she was dressed in white which is not acceptable court dress.

The Assange case went to the Supreme Court. He had 3 barristers acting for him (a QC and 2 juniors - which is unusual - normally you'd only have one junior). See here:

None of those advocates was Amal Clooney - yet to read the media reports, you would think she was solely responsible for running his litigation.

Why do women feel the need to bring other women down and undermine them like this. She is indeed a very successful barrister and she was when she met him. World famous, maybe not then, but that doesn't detract from her proffesional achievements. Good for her.

And as for the hair, I think she has it done professionally.

It's not "bringing women down" it is making a point that is a fair observation.

My husband works in the law and regularly instructs human rights law barristers.

I know a number of very high achieving female lawyers who really are deserving of this kind of public celebration and frankly it is undermining of them to have someone held up as this zenith of legal achievement predominantly because of who she married. It's not fair to them at all and actually really rather gutting.

She has recently appeared on a list of most influential lawyers. It is probably right that is the case but it is because of who she married. That is very sad for female lawyers who have achieved success and influence but go unnoticed because they haven't married a celebrity.

It is also a very bad message to send to young women with any professional aspiration.

Nobody is bringing anyone down, it is a myth propagated by Clooney PR machinery that she was a highly successful lawyer etc, etc. She wasn't.
