Can anyone find an evening dress for a norky size 10 for less than £100?

So I need to find an evening dress which fits 28G norks, isn't super expensive and which isn't velvety (I don't like the look). I'm looking for simple and classic.

I'm shortish (5'4") and don't have any smart shoes either - nearest I've got are patent black wedges, so I need something that at least vaguely goes with them (buying shoes is a nightmare which I don't have time for right now).

Colour wise I'm quite open. I don't do patterns or fussiness, and I certainly don't want sequins or any sort of glittery detailing.

Are there any S&B wizards who might give me some ideas? I usually like Phase 8 for work dresses but none of their evening stuff looks good to me - too middle aged (I am middle aged, but you know what I mean).

The shoes (which Clarks no longer sell, so sorry for the eBay link) but I thought it might be easier with a picture. I suspect I'm also going to be told that they're the worst shoes ever, but they're the best I've been able to find (I have very awkward feet): www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clarks-BNIB-Ladies-Active-Air-Wedge-Mary-Jane-Shoe-Flake-Berry-Black-Patent/132063372670?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3De357f177f3484338ad392bc49391ad8d%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D26%26sd%3D252706127750

I don't have time to search just now but was browsing the French connection dress sale in a size 10 earlier and there were some nice LBDs still left!

Found this in the JL sale, the close up pic looks terrible on the model, looks like it needs a bit more filling out so good for norks!

Purple I like that a lot (and its purple :-) ) but the back would mean a bra shows and I definitely need a bra. And I don't have a racer back one (well apart from my sports bra but that's not the look in going for!).

Ok, how about this one? I know you said no glitter but this looks quite subtle. I've found damsel in a dress dresses very flattering for curvy figures.

Have you tried Pepperberry? They design clothes for the more ample bosom. They have some nice dresses - and in the sale too.

I'm size 10 and 32g , I got a lipsy dress from the next website . Have a look as if you have an account you can order loads of dresses to try without parting with any money .

I'm the same height and bra size as you OP so understand the difficulties! Try //www.saintbustier.com - they do a good collection of dresses from various designers that work with generous bosoms. I'd also recommend Vivienne Westwood dresses - perhaps you'll get lucky in the sales at the moment? Many are cut to flatter busy figures. Good luck!

Flesh I like that a lot, but it's out of stock in a 10.

imjessie I'll have a look, but Next hasn't fitted me very well recently.

Jeez I've never heard of them, thanks! Will have a browse.

Ooh, Purple I do like that one. It's a very subtle glitter and it does look as though it would be right on my shape, thanks!

I would look at House of Fraser web site. They have their sale on still and there are some bargains. Jaeger also have a long black dress on their sale site for £105 which is classy. I would also look at lace which is flattering.

Somebody mention Joanne clothing on the lala land thread, have a look and see if you like anything on there. The prices seem quite reasonable but I've never ordered from there before so I can't vouch for quality.

Olennas 10

High I like those and will bookmark for another time, but I couldn't see any long ones, and it needs to be long for black tie.
