Show me your eternity ring!

I am getting an eternity ring for a significant anniversary soon but can't quite decide what I want. I have size i ring fingers and anything too wide looks daft-especially the full eternity rings or even the half (7stone) ones, so was thinking maybe a 5 stone one? In platinum or white gold but can't find anything exactly right.

I like this picture but it's an American site and made of zirconia anyway.

Do you have a beautiful eternity ring for me to look at? Do you love it??

Go to your local jeweller and get one hand made to your design. Mine complements my engagement ring which was made by the same lady over 20 years ago, as were our wedding bands.

I had one made from my mother's jewellery and love it. I'm the opposite and have massive hands Blush

Agree with PP about got to a local independent jeweller and have it designed. Mine was wonderful and reset all my Mum's for me to wear. She was a tiny wee thing bless her.

rollonthesummer · 15/01/2017 14:07

I hadn't ever really considered getting one made by a jewellers. I'm scared that they'd say it was going to cost £3000! What if they made it and then I didn't like it??

Mine is a full eternity. It sits between my wedding and engagement rings.

If you are in the SE this guy is terrific and no dearer than high street. He made our wedding rings (mine is more like an eternity ring) www.richardchown.co.uk

Gatekeeper · 15/01/2017 14:22

ohhh- that Richard Chown site is lovely...beautiful rings and things

Gatekeeper · 15/01/2017 14:26

my late Aunt Mary was a serial 'engager' and had several rings ( going back to 1940's)... I have them now and would love to have them made into a ring for me and my sister

kel12345 · 15/01/2017 14:27

Mine is 9ct yellow gold like my wedding and engagement rings are. It's a half ring- with 11 small diamonds across the top.
I wear it between my wedding and engagement ring (as seen in the first picture. But I took it off and took two pictures of it on its own on another finger- to give you a clearer view).
I love it. Having a narrow wedding ring means the eternity ring next to it, then my engagement ring in front doesn't look too much.
(The wedding ring was my great nans, eternity ring was my nans and the engagement ring was my mums. So it's also nice that they were all passed down to me when I was getting married, keeping the memories alive).

Excuse the sausage fingers- Mine is a 5 stone setting in Platinum, I had it for an anniversary, & wear with my engagement ring. It was made to fit by a great little shop in the Jewelry Quarter in Birmingham.Total weight 0.7 carats.

Mine wasn't exactly right when it was finished and she happily changed it and made the extra two diamonds into earrings.

They'll work to your budget and advise you how to get the best from your budget too.

I found mine through word of mouth and she was truly wonderful.

Small, local, independent is the way forward.

rollonthesummer · 15/01/2017 15:33

Thank you for the advice and photos! We have a small independent jewellers in the town but they are well known for being very expensive!! I will have to investigate.

Mine is a 5 stone rub over setting, I also have very small hands. The setting is the same as my engagement ring, they never snag or catch on anything

I love them too. I'd love to start a show me your wedding dress thread. Or other wedding related threads.

I finally got mine for my 20th Wedding anniversary. We chose it together, and my original idea of getting a princess cut setting, found it didn't suit my cheapo but irreplaceable wedding ring. We saw one inthe window of a vintage (second hand) jewellers, under the price limit we had set and just suited. I had it resized smaller and wish they had been a bit more careful about that as its lost the hallmark a bit. Its 9carat yellow gold with 9 diamonds with a total of 1/2 a carat (I think?)

I've got a 'dot-dash' half eternity band in 18ct gold.
We're not married but I still wear it on my ring finger with my solitaire.

rollonthesummer · 15/01/2017 16:49

Can you have an eternity ring with just three stones?! Grin

OP posts:
MrAliBongo · 15/01/2017 17:05

This is mine! Yes, we had it made, and it cost a lot, but we were quite specific, and wanted ethically produced gold and stones. My husband had been saving for it for a few years - entirely his idea.

www.ingleandrhode.co.uk/bespoke/eternity-rings/diamond-sapphire-half-eternity-ring-bespoke-rings/

It's 11-stones, round half the circumference of my finger... If we'd gone for fewer stones, they'd have been bigger, and the ring would be chunkier. More stones would have made it daintier.

MrsBellefleur · 15/01/2017 17:13

Here's my half eternity. Diamonds and sapphires.

Rings with 3 stones are called trilogy rings. Each stone is supposed to represent past, present and future. That's what I've been told anyway.

Hulababy · 15/01/2017 17:33

Mine is a half eternity, 18 carat yellow gold with 11 small diamonds. DH bought it for me as a gift one Christmas iirr. I wear it every day. It was bought to match the gold of my engagement ring and wedding band. However, I actually wear it on my right hand, rather than between my wedding and engagement rings as I find it more comfortable. If I am going out and want to wear another ring on my right hand, thats when I move it over.

I absolutely LOVE yours imsorryiasked. Who made it for you? Do you have their website?

I too have tiny fingers and have always avoided rings as thought they looked ridiculous on me, but have had a change of heart recently...

Strokethefurrywall · 15/01/2017 17:50

Mine is 7 stone (the middle one), DH face after birth of DS2.
My wedding band, the bottom one is full eternity all the way around.
