Im trying to branch out of my usual shopping places (oasis, zara, warehouse...) So have been looking for a bit more grown up items and something other than jeans which seem to be glued onto me.

I've fallen in love with a few bits from la redoute but never ordered from them before, what's the quality/sizing like?

I recently ordered several things from them, a tweedy 40% wool coat, a 40% wool striped breton jumper, a jumper dress and a couple of pairs of trousers. I was a bit dubious too, but at 40% off (It was the Black Friday deal) and free returns I thought I would give it a go!

The coat is great, the jumper is lovely, great quality. I haven't tried the dress on yet but again great quality and the trousers are true to fit and look just like they do online. They are a sort of mole skin thickness, cotton and great quality for the price.

HTH!

Some stuff is OK, some stuff is such poor quality it makes Primark look like Prada.

It's very hit and miss. I have a fab knitted frock, (my Christmas day frock) and it's lovely. I ordered some other stuff (T shirts and tops) which were so appallingly badly made they went back with the next courier.

I have a few of their cotton wool mix v neck jumpers for work. I think I paid £7 in 40% off sake in the summer. They wash lovely, no bobbling and I wear them a lot. DH got a jacket which he loves. I did buy some work cigarette leg trousers which haven't washed so well but again they were no more than £10.

It's hit and miss, but given the prices and regular discounts, I usually give things a go if I like the look. I usually find the sizing on the not-generous size - don't know if others have found the same. They do however do a wide range of sizes, so I usually just end up sizing up.

This is my coat -
www.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-350029221.aspx?docid=221816

It is true to size, I needed to hem the sleeves and move the buttons ever so slightly but I would normally have to do this. It's a lovely coat and very versatile.

I buy most of my 7 yo clothes and probably 60% of my clothes from them, you do need to size up as french sizes are ti y but there oversize stuff is massive. Quality tends to be good for wool, cotton and cashmere but.the polyester stuff is cheap so i try to choose only the nicer fabrics. I do love the french styling though and try to wear as much as will fit my huge breasts.

Ti y = tiny

I have found them to always be true to size rather than tiny, but I think it depends on what you are buying perhaps?

I agree with vintage - I've had some really poor quality items which is off putting, though other things have been decent.

They regularly do discount codes so I only consider when things are reduced.

Couldn't agree more with PPs. It's very hit & miss in terms of both quality and sizing.

Picked up some great cotton summer dresses in their sale earlier this year. Had to return some of the pricier dresses and tops as the quality was so poor. Also there was a jumper I loved in the pics but it came up huge and sleeves all at odds with rest of it. Disappointing.

Customer service and returns were fine though.

I have a few things from la redoute that are 10 years old and still look new. Mostly summer clothes so admittedly they don't get quite as much wear but they are classic pieces in quality fabrics and well made.

Their customer service wasn't great last time I ordered but that was a couple of years ago, it may well have improved now

I really like them. They've stepped up their game and sizing is a lot more consistent as is quality. (Just realised pp has said the exact opposite!)

I have three of the cotton/cashmere jumpers and they're lovely, I wash on a cold wash tied in a pillowcase and dry flat.

I've found so long as I stick to the non-poly garments it's great. The floaty, nylon and polyester style tops that look lovely online are not good.

Also the kids clothes are great. Ordered coats and boots for my seven year olds and they're lovely, great quality.

I have pieces from there. They are not the best quality. But given the prices I can over look this.

I find the sizes huge though. always need to size down. I also think they are cut for quite a tall person generally. They have a petite range though which at 5"3 suits me.
