Would you buy second hand make up?

I have about half a dozen bottles of foundation that have been sampled once or twice and never touched again because they don't agree with my sensitive skin.

I want to try selling them on eBay but do people buy second hand make up? Would you? It seems a huge waste to throw them out but I just can't use them.

I don't because I've had an infection near my brain and my doctor warned me off anything risky; but plenty of people do, or they are more expensive foundations (£20 type Estée Lauder, Urban Decay etc). I dont think £6 standard ones would sell easily because there's not much of saving to offset the risk!

eBay can be a bit funny about second hand make up and will probably remove the listing if reported but plenty of people get away with it and there are second hand beauty sales places if it does, I think Depop is one.

Not from eBay, but I have done and would do again from people I know. I think any product with a pump dispenser is okay, as you're not putting fingers or brushes in it. I wouldn't anything in a jar, or lip/eye products that someone else had used.

I put a shoebox full of makeup on a Facebook selling page for £25, thinking no one would want it. There was some good stuff in there,most of it bought while working out what I wanted to wear for my wedding. People were fighting over it (including a lady who advertises herself as a wedding and prom makeup artist which made me feel a bit ick) Madness. I'm not sure eBay actually lets you sell used makeup, so Facebook is worn a try.

I wouldn't no. However many people do so its worth trying. If they are high end brands it's very likely they will sell.

Give them to a women's refuge, pp often turn up with literally nothing. Same with any moisturisers or shampoos you don't use.

To be honest, if it had only been used a couple of times I'd probably do it for foundation, if it were a pump bottle. How would any bacteria get into the bottle through the pump nozzle? I wouldn't for a blusher, eye make up, pressed powder etc., but foundation I really can't see the problem.

As Anchor says though, only high-end stuff is likely to sell, and I'm guessing with sensitive skin you wouldn't have been dropping £20 a bottle on something untested.

Oh dear - I'm afraid I wouldn't, and I am an enthusiastic buyer of bras and even pants on ebay which I know not everyone else is. (At least, until this week when they appear to have decided to become Amazon and hide anything that isn't new).

Google Give and Make Up, you can send things "in the condition you would give to a friend" I think and they are given to women in refuges. I have similar with foundations where I've tested them once and if you are happy to spend £3 or so on postage you can send loads in a medium parcel.

Years ago I was in the gym and someone asked to borrow my mascara. I'm a bit timid and sometimes struggle to say no. It was an expensive brand, hardly used and I couldn't face using it again.

i would for foundation in a pump bottle, but never mascara or lipstick
