Mumsnet Haircut

I've woken up with the urge to cut my hair.

Is Anyone who's done the MN haircut around to give me some courage guidance?

My hair is all one length and about 4" past my shoulders.

No don't do it.

I've done it twice. The first time it was OK and the second time it was awful.

Really? But my hair is feeling all tatty and split and I can't get to the hairdressers this week.

What's the MN haircut? Intrigued.

It didn't look that bad the first time, it was doing it again that messed it up I think.

My hairs really thick so it made the layers OK but looked rubbish as it wasn't thinned out and shaped around my face nicely.

I agree, the first time I did it it looked good but other attempts have looked awful.

Hold off! You'll regret it! I've often found putting a little colour in can get me over the urge in a pinch

Cut yourself a long fringe until you can get to a hairdresser. Less risky and there are some good tutorials on YouTube.

It looks shit. I ruined my hair doing it.

Ok, you've all talked me out of it. I've just put it up in a messy bun and will try to ignore the urge to cut the whole lot off.

You whack your hair in a ponytail at the front of your head, like a rhino horn, then chop straight across.

I've done it, but I have mega curly hair so you couldn't see how absolutely wonky it looked.
