Thoughts on this skirt please

I've fallen in love with this skirt... I think. I absolutely love it but not sure I love it on me? Or if I'm just being overly critical of myself as usual.
Also have no idea what kind of top to put with it colour or style. The skirt is a floaty material.
Thanks everyone!

I like it but think it would look better with a top or jumper that sits just below the waistline rather than a top tucked in

I love it! Where is it from?

You could get away with a top in any of the colours in the skirt. A nice pink jumper or wrap top, or a bottle/jade green would be lovely.

I am not a fan of pleats all the way round so it's a no from me. You look like you have a nice figure OP but the pleat detail is unflattering on.

I'm not a fan tbh, pleats are very hard to wear.

Sorry but I think the pleats make you look a bit worse deer than you actually are.
I love the fabric though, maybe with a different top or not tucked in?

Rather than worse deer I mean wider!!!

I'm really sorry. I wan't to be supportive but it does nothing for you.

I think it makes you look wider than you probably are.

Ahhh pleats, I love the look of them but hate them on me!

You have a lovely figure, perhaps try this with a plain loose fitting blouse, tuck it in a little but leave it loose (if that makes sense?) and then perhaps a jumper on top that goes slightly below the waistline? ,

did you see it styled when you brought it?

Sorry, I agree with PP, I think the pleats make you look bigger than you are.

I like it but agree that you need a top that sits just below the waist of the dress, rather than one that is tucked in. You're tiny - it's obvious that it's skirt not stomach or hips or anything, so it really doesn't make you look big at all.

Thanks all!
Yes I did think it made me look quite 'hippy' which is my biggest part so maybe pleats aren't for me Sad
Would wear with that tucked in top that's just what I had on when I saw it.
It also comes in a dress but think it might have be a bit much in a dress.
Oh well has saved me a lot of money!

Mamabear it is from Kate Spade.

If it's the fabric that you love you could try it in a top.

Agree re pleats. Perhaps the only way I reckon it would look good is with a close fitting, longer line black top with a wide belt to define your waist. I love the fabric too. Where is it from?

Burnish I did see I in the top but it has a very high neckline which doesn't suit and also irritates/strangles me Grin

I agree it would only work if the top was longer and closely fitting, it's one of those ones that really hard to get away with due to the shape.

The top though, that's great, where is that from?

My immediate reaction was that it looked quite ordinary and not very flattering.

Having just found it online and seen how £££ it is, I really really really think you can find a much more fabulous skirt for your bucks.

And yep crazy expensive I love Kate Spade but have never purchased anything full price there was a sample sale a few years back and got dress for £30! Haven't had another one since. Sad I hold out hope though.

I think if you wear it with top over the waste it would be fine and more balanced.

If you really want it you really need a top that is longer covering the tummy. Pleats are hideous on most figures over the tummy area.
