Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

GiddyGiddyGoat Wed 02-Nov-16 20:39:28

Herbs, (a) tell him he's an unsupportive arse. (b) definitely steal it if he doesn't offer it willingly. Bloody hell. And his reason for refusing is????

herbaceous Wed 02-Nov-16 20:48:38

I'm furious. His reason for refusing is that he wants to use it while I'm out. For a whole two hours.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops Wed 02-Nov-16 21:04:01

Aaaah, Cremcat flowers

I'm here....

GiddyGiddyGoat Wed 02-Nov-16 21:13:32

Why can't he play on your tablet / his 'phone or whatever? Or read an improving book? Or have your dinner ready when you come home?

Collymollypuff Wed 02-Nov-16 21:13:49

So sorry about Cremcat, Crem. sad I meant to email you but haven't got round to it, story of my life. thanks

Thanks for the new fred, GGG.

Lalsy Wed 02-Nov-16 21:14:15

Awww, flowers.

Stropps, you talk much sense even when in extremis.

Right, wise crepes, how do you dismantle flatpack furniture fitted together with those three quarter thingies into which bolts go? You can't get at the bolts to undo them......

vv unsupportive re laptop.

bigTillyMint Wed 02-Nov-16 21:26:29

Stroppsshock re the no knickers!

Herbs, super well done star I haven't had any Prevent training and I don't think anyone has said anything about it at our place confused

And I hope you took the laptop - what a way to carry on angry

Re cultivating interests in stuff other than screens. It could well end up being bad for their health. Just saying grin

I will be at home with DS for at least the rest of this week (probably hosp visit again tomorrow) - all rather stressful sad

herbaceous Wed 02-Nov-16 21:32:25

Course is tomorrow night. So time for DP to come to senses. I was nonplussed when he said 'no'. Have yet to play the 'unsupportive' card. Sulking will ensue.

addle Wed 02-Nov-16 21:39:48

Take it, Herbs. That's completely rubbish.

GGG - can't remember what the trousers of truth might have to do with 4am texts?

BTM - that sounds tough. hope it goes ok

GiddyGiddyGoat Wed 02-Nov-16 21:46:26

It was just a very feeble joke Addle - the texts of truth / the trousers of truth...

BeachysSandyFlipFlops Wed 02-Nov-16 21:48:35

By the way, completely get your 'teen toddler' comment, BTM.... the amount of non-consequential cooking I have done in the last six months, just 'being around' is incredible......

However, am now free for three days as ds away with Dh wink

motherinferior Wed 02-Nov-16 22:05:25

Coming late to the party of Distressed Teens, DD2 is in a worse state than I thoughtsad. Not sure how bad it is, but she is working herself up and is worried about eating. BUGGER.

Collymollypuff Wed 02-Nov-16 22:06:24

Thinking of you and ds, BTM. It's incredibly early days. Physical debility messes with your head no end. I bloody hate hospitals, along with most of the world, I should think. It's tough having to go to them.

Stropperella Wed 02-Nov-16 22:07:13

Teen toddlers. Yup. Sorry to read your update, BTM. Hope the hospital visit is useful and not too draining.

Collymollypuff Wed 02-Nov-16 22:07:34

X post, MI. Why is she worried about eating?

GiddyGiddyGoat Wed 02-Nov-16 22:17:27

Yes, what is she worried about MI?

motherinferior Wed 02-Nov-16 22:38:59

It's hard to work out but she is in a total state. Says she's constantly hungry but can't eat enough not to be hungry - she does eat but not very much, usually. She says it's the constant hunger that's distressing her and she feels sick at school because of it (but that nothing else at school is worrying her). Is worried it will get out of hand and she'll end up like her grandmother...sad

Collymollypuff Wed 02-Nov-16 22:43:37

I think my wheat allergy used to manifest like that. Allergy? Hormones? Worth checking with the GP. Funnily enough dd was talking on FB about always wanting to be eating and I wondered if she's inherited my allergy, or indeed dh's.

magimedi Wed 02-Nov-16 22:44:21

Checking in.

Thanks for the new thread GGG - love the title.

[flowers} & probably wine to all of you with teens & irritating OP's.

Bedtime for me - am shattered.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops Wed 02-Nov-16 22:49:31

Ds did use eating and food for a bit and he started getting quite obsessed about when he ate and whether he wanted to. Not dismissing others issues with particular eating disorders, but I did provide him with numerous snacks in different bags to eat during the day and I did make him eat with us in the evening, and provided a full veggie meal for him, but if he didn't eat it, it wasn't a problem.....he more than often did, but it was very low key.

There is certainly a link between teenage growth spurts and non eating/control issues I feel....

motherinferior Thu 03-Nov-16 06:51:10

I'm sure you are right, Beachy. Dd2 just does worry so much.

motherinferior Thu 03-Nov-16 06:52:19

It's going to be a right old bugger if it is an allergy. She'll be well pissed off.wink

NUFC69 Thu 03-Nov-16 07:25:28

What a lovely thread title. flowers to Crem. How are you doing?

MI, not wishing to worry you, but my best friend at school suddenly developed diabetes when she was 11/12; I just remember that she was always hungry. But I agree that low key is the way to go, and I appreciate that you are worried because of DM.

BTM, I hope your day goes ok and DS is all right.

Stropps, hang on in there.

Herbs, keep on wearing him down. Re Newcastle, I don't think Benton would be right for you. Agree renting would be a good idea, by the way. There is masses of culcher in Newcastle: the RSC still come every year to the Theatre Royal, the Sage is wonderful for all sorts of music (and a great venue), there is Northern Stage, the Playhouse, the Bach Choir, Phil and Lit, really the list is endless. (And, of course, DS would love the Metro).

Kitchen and utility room all finished, just need to clean down and replace everything we removed, but delighted with the floor. Still waiting for spare parts from Bosch, so DH is doing his favourite job of dishwashing. Off to hairdressers later to have my highlights done: am contemplating a change of colour.

MontserratCaballe Thu 03-Nov-16 07:32:02

Lovely new thread, GGG - thanks.

BTM, how is ds this morning? And how are you? Did you manage to get some kip? Thinking of you.

MI, sorry to hear re dd2. I hope you can get to bottom of it.

How are you today, Stropps? Sorry I can't recall if you are ft or not. I hope you have had some sleep. GGG has v wise words I think.

Well done herbs re observation.

Lalsy no idea re furniture but I suspect Allan keys (sp) may be involved.

Last day before I'm off dispensing justice for 2 weeks. So much to do. I filled in my appraisal form yesterday and realised I've done a sod of a lot over the last year, especially as I only work 3 days a week. Go me! Career aspirations sections rather brief though - get a new job elsewhere would be ideal.

Hope you are as OK as possible, Crem.
