The rate is 1.1 and I'm In Vegas in two weeks. It's not worth buying anything is it? not even from Target? It's so depressing! I'll just have to drink....

Got back from New York last week.
Nothing worth buying apart from No7 stuff. That was the only bargain Sad

In the states at the moment - only thing worth buying was duty free perfume on the way out. Everything else is more expensive than at home !

I also had a depressing trip. Only bargain was NYDJ Jeans at $90 instead of £135.

Literally all I have bought is amazingly gorgeously hip melamine plates.

That's it. I used to be a professional 'bringing back the world in a suitcase' from USA Hmm

Me too. I was going to do my Xmas shopping! My nieces usually like Victoria's Secret as they give good free tacky gifts if u spend $75 and that would be them done for Xmas. God it's depressing. I go the day after the election I don't kno if that will be worse or not!

I'm going on Thursday, and have already come to the conclusion that I won't be bothering with any shopping unless there are special reductions on brands that I can't get here. It's so depressing.

Didn't get much last week, just a few bits from bath and body works/Sephora as you can't get it here. Even then it turned out Debenhams were selling one of the things at £1 less.

If Trump wins, dollar will fall....

Probably best to suck up the stronger dollar than hope for that though!

Worth monitoring the JCrew US site for a code you can use in store. Also if you can get to an outlet mall there are still bargains to be had. I bought quite a few bits from JCrew Factory when I was in the US last month and some clothes for DH in the Ralph Lauren Polo store. I think it's only worth looking for US brands at the mo as they tend to be marked up heavily here. I found Target really overpriced when I was there!

Sephora is always worth it because you can buy stuff not available here. Their value sets are great, really good value. I always get the Laura Mercier one.
If you want perfume they do sampler sets with a voucher for a full size bottle of the one you like best.
Sign up for their loyalty card and put your birthday as when you are there and you get a free gift. Also lots of good samples at the till.

Old Navy has the same stuff as gap but cheaper.

The outlet malls are still worth it.
If you fancy a drive out, Palm Springs has the best outlet mall I've ever been to.

Got back from Vegas and LA on Sunday. We've usually got a suitcase filled with bargains. All we got this time was a pair of Adidas football boots (son bought those) and a bag for life ($1.50) for myself from Hollywood farmers market.
I bought Converse for myself from Amazon a few weeks ago and they were much cheaper than they were selling for at the outlet stores over there.

There are bargains to be had if you have the patience to rifle through the racks in Marshalls and TJ Maxx (brands like Lucky Strike, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Vineyard Vines)

I have just came back from California a couple weeks ago. Indeed didnt buy as much as I expexcted, just a few bits actually.
Victoria Secret is much much cheaper than In London (if you like it)
Kate Spade, Michael Cors, Coach,Lulu Lemon,Tommy, Ralph Lauren maybe slightly less expensive in shopping malls but you can get really good deals in outlet shops. Some of those bags were just a fraction of what it costs in London. I will never be able to justify buying any of those brands full price again.
Oh and Crest Whitestrips!
Talking about the drinking, i was shocked at how expensive wine in California is Shock

Yes I've just met my friend who said the wine in California was $45 in the supermarket. No J.crew in Vegas that I can see.

ChangedDaily Yep, Cinnamon Spice is discontinued. I used to get them from a shop here that specialises in American sweets, they were my favourite Sad. Have pondered over trying Dentyne just for the flavour, but I really don't like gum.

I was there a month and a half ago.

I bought lots of sephora stuff, but mainly brands you can't get here and their sample sets (which are brilliant). Also picked up a couple of pairs of levi's for DH as they were on sale (505's for 20 bucks!). And I did my annual trip of old navy. I love their curvy jeans so I'd be buying them anyway.

So DH's jeans were the only 'bargains' everything else was just stuff that's hard to get here.

Yes I must look for an old navy viucher
