If you're an Autumn - do you own any black ?

I'm mainly navy blue, camel and red now with maroon creeping in, some greens.
But bags and boots I can't get away from black and tbh I'd like a couple of black skirts too.
Out of the question ?

I am a spring so not much help but after years of no black I've introduced some black skirts, tights and boots as I just couldn't get knee length stuff in cold weather to look right with anything other than black opaques. I wear with my best colours (which luckily include red and tan which go ok with black).

Tend to stick with tan for bags and boots most of the time though. Is that worth trying for you?

I don't have any black at all in my wardrobe. In winter my casual look is a dress with chocolate brown woolen tights and brown biker boots. For work I wear dresses with grey or navy semi-opaques and brogues in tan, oxblood or pewter. My bags are all tan or chocolate brown. My coats are khaki, camel or warm orangey red.

I own a black hoodie, but I try to wear something with the 'right' colours next to my face. Otherwise I look slightly ghostly.
Apart from that I've got dark greens, violets, oranges, browns, dark marines for tops.
I've got jeans, shoes and bags in black.

I am an autumn and when I found out I got rid of all my black and white. I do look best in mustard, maroon, orange, olive, khaki, but years later I have realised that actually I like wearing black. So now have loads and don't care, I feel really good in black, I tend (loosely) to either have a very low neckline to keep it away from my face or break it up with a scarf (I wouldn't wear a black scarf for example, that would be too much) but otherwise sod it.

The price different between black and navy or tan boots was over £100 in the style I wanted. Again bags I've been hunting high and low, I guess black is more mainstream therefore cheaper

I'm a summer, and do try avoid black near my face, as I think it's draining. If I can get work trousers in grey or navy I will, but it's not always that easy, so black does creep in. And I agree that it can be hard to coordinate skirts, boots and tights in colours other than black.

I can carry black off with a full face of make-up though, so have a couple of going out-out black tops/dresses.

Wear brown, green, camel etc, much more flattering. I can really see how harsh it is on me now, especially as I get older. However if you're young you can get away with pretty much anything!

Below the waist and bags, I have plenty of black, goes with everything - does it even count if it's not near your face?

I have black tops, easy to find and slimming, but these days I'll wear a scarf in a flattering colour next to my face.

No black at all, I hate the way it looks on me and with autumn colours. I do have charcoal grey/navy/dark mole though, all of which I wear more than dark brown.

Ideally no black but you can get away with it for shoes, skirts with the right top. It'll never look as good as the right shade of blue or a nice chocolate brown.

Nooe, none at all. Colours done mid80s when i first had money to buy clothes and needed them for work. It took me simply ages to replace the black, but eventually now I've done it. I set out deliberately to do this, because I noticed when did wear 'my colours' next to black, they look cheap, the fabrics look less expensive, whereas even actually cheap things look good worn next to my colours.

Certainly took me ten years to get replacements for everything. For ages i had an evening dress in black, i used to wear it with fake tan.... i set myself the task to not buy anything outside my colours even if i continued to wear some things that were wrong.

1 black bag but it's rarely used now the rest is colour

Do you still wear the leather jacket ? No would love leather leggings bit again I wonder black or chocolate ... It's more around footwear to go with it

I have black shoes, tights, boots, suit and a skirt or two.
I try to avoid it above the waist and don't have any black tops or cardigans.

Occasionally, but tend to wear an Autumny scarf to offset it
Have since bough a chocolate one and a taupe one which are more flattering

I don't have many black shoes now either tbh they tend to be browns, grey or burgundy I sound so colourful!

Black just doesn't go with Autumnal colours at all. Think it takes some time to change the mindset around this but it's so worth it!

My go-to is choc brown tights and short skirt. Most of my boots and bags are tan, or brown or occasionally grey.

Black is just too harsh, I find.

I'm starting to phase it out for clothes but I have kept a few beautiful things like a fur trimmed wool coat. I bought a pair of Chelsea boots in black recently. I don't buy it for "above the waist" like others have said.

I disagree that black doesn't work with Autumn colours. My very best colour is burgundy and black accessories work with that. I wore a pumpkin coloured fitted shift to work this week with a skinny black patent belt, opaques and heels and got compliments all day.
