Curling tongs for short hair.

My hair is poker straight - had it cut yesterday into a bob (again) so a bit boring. I would like to have a slight wave when I go out somewhere nice but not sure what size barrel would give something loose without the curl falling out immediately. I love this style and mine is the same length and fringe is the same now. Any recommendations for decent tongs?

I've similar hair and started to use bendy curlers from the £1 shop to get a bit of life. I only use 3 or 4 at a time.
