Are uggs still acceptable?

I know it's not 2008 any more, are uggs still a thing?

Expecting my first baby and my fat preg-legs don't fit in any of my calf/ knee boots.

Uggs look comfy, would fit and easy to get on/ off with a little one.

Should I get some? And if so what colour? I wear a lot of navy and grey...

In the house / to local shop. Not v comfortable to actually walk in, as in being out & about. I have brown ones.

The worlds most ugly boot. But you are pg so you have a free pass to wear whatever you find comfortable.

Don't get grey, I had a pair and they were too hard to keep clean. Black is the best.

They are very flat so not good for long distances but for pottering about they're divine.

Tbh I don't care if they're in or not, you'll have to prise mine from my cold dead feet.

(Though will probably switch to EMUs next year as they're a lot cheaper and just the same)

I've just got mine out today! Lovely and warm/ comfortable. Wouldn't say they're stylish but I don't really care 90% of the time when just nipping to the shops etc (also pregnant and running around after a toddler so comfort trumps everything else 😂)

Ooh I was wondering this recently too Bristol. I'm 6m preg, huge and inflexible. I thought about the uggs festering away under the stairs as I struggled to heave my Chelsea boots on..

They've had their day. Having said that I will wear my sturdy kensingtons après ski as they are snowproofed and comfy.

As someone up thread said fine for slobbing around and to pop to the shops

Recommendations on alternatives?

Something warm, non restrictive and more socially acceptable to be out and about in?

They are not waterproof though are they? So not very practical. They make everyone's legs look like tree trunks. So unflattering.

I bought some Ugg boots last year that are not the usual furry beige "Shrek feet" things but just nice normal leather ankle boots - in black. They will definitely be back in for me this winter.

I have some uggs ankle boots that are waterproof, they are so comfortable. I wear them for dog walking, I do wear a cagoule though so probs not the best advert for fashion.

I have them but only as slippers. I couldn't go out in them, but I'm not pregnant. You wear what is comfortable OP.

They are the ugliest shoes ever created.

However they feel like marshmallows on my feet so I couldn't care less.

I dont care if they're in or out.

I got mine out for the winter the other day and slipped my feet into their snuggly warmth with a blissful sigh.
