Warm waterproof winter coat for 4 yr old?

seri0usly · 03/10/2016 11:03

Its for my 4 yr old girl so either a girls coat or ideally a navy or red unisex coat I can pass onto my son. I can't seem to find anything that is warm and at least showerproof for the school playground.

Anyone bought one already you can recommend?

H&M do fab coats. My kids have worn them for skiing in Scotland

Look at Mountain Warehouse. Their 3 in 1 coats are ace. JJMMBB also have similar coats but the MW ones are better and cheaper.

Gap do some absolutely cracking warm and near-indestructible ones. Not sure about red, but definitely navy.

Lidl have them in at the moment, not really unisex but v cheap, 7.99 or 12 with waterproof trousers. They are fleece lines and lightly padded, we had them for nursery last year and they were brill, just stocked up again now

Ah, m&s had a gorgeous one last autumn/winter, yellow with starry lining, warm with storm cuffs and patch pockets. They don't seem to have it right now but may later on as it's so classic - it's about £20

Lidl are great, fleece lined waterproofs. Mountain warehouse also very good, either the 3 in one or the ski jacket types. Regatta outlet online can be great for picking up a bargain or dare2b also online. Also always worth checking Cotswolds if you have one to see if anything decent is reduced, can pick up some good coats that would be around £70 full price for less than half sometimes.

Mine both has Regatta Term time fleece lined waterproofs through primary. Past the bum so no cold waist. Warm and waterproof. When they got grubby I washed them in the machine and reproofed with nikwax. The lasted through 2 children no trouble.

Another vote for lidl. Dd (6) is on her second winter with the current one, which was passed down from a cousin. And they wash really well.

Verbaudet coats are great, really good quality and there's usually a discount code floating around.

Muddy puddles. They have a unisex navy one which has a red fleece lining so you can take it out for mild rainy days.
My ds and dd both have the same coat.

I got theirs on offer

George at Asda have some lovely winter coats for children. My son is 4 and I got his from there - £18 and completely warm and shower proof. Really good value for money.

May be too expensive but Tootsa MacGinty do a fab one in red. Found one here to get free p&p.

Here's the 2016 version of the M&S yellow waterproof www.marksandspencer.com/fisherman-shower-resistant-hooded-jacket-1-7-years-/p/p22430674?image=SD_04_T88_2359Y_R0_X_EC_90&color=YELLOW&prevPage=plp

Great coat for autumn and spring but I got a warmer winter coat from next

Pollen O Pyret- Scandinavian - they do fleeces + 'shell' jackets that join together to make a winter coat. They are properly waterproof and warm and mine all wear the fleeces and shell coats separately all summer too. They are pricey but have a really good resale value on eBay as they are so robust. Cone in unisex colours too.

That should have read 'Polarn O Pyret'
