Has anyone had Blepharoplasty surgery on upper eyelid?

If so how was it - was it worth doing and are there any side effects?

I have dreadful top eye bags and am seriously considering this surgery.

Thanks

Me. My upper eyelids started to sag, I did it 5 years ago and it was worth it although they have started to drop a little bit.

Chiquita - did they tell you they would start to sag again? If you don't mind me asking where did you get it done and how much was it?

I live in spain, I had the surgery here. They say the 'results' will last around 8-10 years, I think 10 years is too optimistic but I can see that in 3 years I will do it again. Even though they have sagged a little bit, (gravity always wins), it has been absolutely worth it and my eyes still look a lot better now after 5 years than my 'before'. It was almost 4000 euros in total.

A friend of mine has just had hers done. She paid £2400 and that was under local anaesthetic. If she'd wanted general anaesthetic it would have been £3300.

When she told me she was having it done I thought she was wasting her money as it didn't really need doing, but I have to say when you see her before and after pictures side by side there's a huge difference, she looks generally much brighter and more awake and not so frowny or heavy around the eyes.

She's 3 weeks on from operation day, bruising and swelling had done right down by about 7-10 days and she was back in work. If you hadn't known she'd had something done, you wouldn't have known after 2 weeks iyswim. She just told people at work she was having time off to decorate the house. She's had a few colleagues comment that she looks different but they can't put their finger on what's changed.

Is this what Caroline hirons had done - if so, she has a good blog about it on her website.

I had it done 4 weeks ago tomorrow!!

I posted about it here, after 5 days. I also had a brow lift because that was half my problem. It was pretty horrific for the first week (brow lift definitely the worst part!).

Thank you. I am very pleased with the results. As Caroline Hirons says, it is amazing to be able to look up with just my eyes! I had the surgery at the Spire in Southampton. My surgeon was amazing.

That's interesting Wholia, I was looking at the Spire in Farnham which is just round the corner from me. Not sure if they have the same surgeons at Farnham and Southampton - off to google.... :)
