Anyone does this?

Like the exact same thing.

For example, I have multiples of the same basic striped Bossini long sleeved shirt I bought in Hongkong.

Or I bought more than one of the exact dress I really like when it went on sale.

I'm often very tempted. I resolve it by getting it in another colour.

Yes, I have, um, six of my favourite stripy tshirt. In four colours though, so doesn't actually count at all.

And another four of the same style in notstripes.

Definitely. Ralph Lauren jeans. One size difference for fat and skinny days Grin

Yes! Must be in different colours though.

YY different colours.
I bought some Clarks sandles last year in pink, then the next week the same pair in navy (only because they didn't have both colours in stock at the same time)

Things like TShirts I'll buy 6-8 a time if I like the fit.

And basics like leggings

I have done this, only to go off the thing before I get to use the spare! Ebay is your friend in that scenario.

I used to do this. Recently I went through all of my wardrobe hoard and got rid of stuff only to find several times I was ditching items I thought were so great I bought several. The ONLY thing that didn't go in the charity bag was a series of trousers, they get worn a million times!

Mass fan here. I know what i like, the colours and shapes and quality of fabric. When i find the 'perfect' anything, i do buy several. Tops I tend to be wearing all at the same day, a jacket i would keep the second u til the first wore out, or was seriously threadbare. HTH.

YY or rather wish I did.

I once bought a pair of really lovely soft suede Clarks ballet flats for a bargain price in the sale (like, £14). Wished so much that I had bought two as I wore them to bits. Trouble is you can't tell (always) what you are going to wear to bits.

But I have done it with swimming costumes (I am awkward to fit) and also have the same Boden cardi in two colours.

Yes, exactly. I bought a pair of Vans snakeskin slipon on sale, as the outlet was closing down. I thought I wouldn't wear them but what do you know, it's my go to now. So comfortable. I wish I bought another one!

Yes though in different colours - I have 6 Boden tshirts that just fit perfectly and look good and I notice they've now stopped selling them so I'm glad I gradually stocked up. I also have their cardigan in 4 different colours because they just fit me perfectly and wash well.

I recently also got a second pair of M&S jeans that fit me perfectly and look amazing when I realised they were discontinuing them.

Yes, particularly everyday & work clothes - I have 2 pairs each of summer / winter work trousers (grower, not office work) & the casual combats I wear out of work - so one on and one in the wash of each. I've also got 2 of my favourite t-shirt.
I do sometimes wonder if people think I never wash my clothes - but I'm just much more comfortable wearing basically the same thing all the time.

I don't buy a second one to keep, though - I think even if you don't do fashion at all (which I don't), shapes change enough that it's easy for things to just look a bit wrong.

Sadik - yes I wonder that too. Especially as I have a uniform - the Bossini striped shirt I have multiples of, plus other similar-looking striped shirts. :D

Yes, I have two pairs of Gap skinny ankle skimmers in different colours that I wear to work, I have multiple Boden cashmere cardigans in different colours and I have a few sets of shirts in different colours. I only do this for work clothes, at the weekend I go wild and only buy one of each thing and then mourn them when things I love fall to pieces with age. And in the 90s (5 years ago obv) I had lots of pairs of DMs.

I keep toying with buying so many multiples I can wear the same thing every day.

Yes. I have multiples of a particular plain black H&M t-shirt, and wear them several times a week.

A jersey dress from M&S in two colours.

Lace sleeved t-shirts in 2 colours.

Several pairs of identical black skinnies.

Etc.

My thinking is that I'm really awkward, so if I actually do find something I like, it's worth buying it in several colours.

AyeAmarok · 17/09/2016 22:17

Yep, I do this!

Sometimes in different colours, sometimes in the same.

I do this with make up, especially if it's limited edition or discontinued. Example, Revlon raspberry bite lipstick, stunning colour and discontinued, I bought two off eBay then found some more on Amazon and got another two! That should last a while...

multiple Boden cashmere cardigans Envy

I had a Boden cashmere cardi once but I wore it so much it got a hole in the sleeve Sad

I had bought it with a voucher from a friend so the extravagance was Allowed.

I hardly ever do! I Generally, if I've got one of something I'd rather get something different.

I do have the same Boden top in two different colours, though (the second one was mega-cheap in the sale). And I just bought a cardi on eBay for £1.40 because I recognised the style as being the same as one I already have and love.

And I have the same bra in three colours, but that doesn't really count.
