Off piste Beauty gift ideas for friend

Ok beauty addicts I'm looking for a present for a friend who is into her clothes and make up. She is in the midlands and tends to buy her make up on the high street - I know she buys Mac, Benefit, Clinique, Essie and OPI. I'm in the south and try and get her presents from shops that she has not got nearby and have bought stuff from Cos , & Other Stories, and Cult Beauty. For my birthday she bought me some great vintage stuff ( which I love) so in return I'm looking for a great beauty gift that she might not otherwise buy herself. I would like a compact or palette that's a little bit glamorous with usable shades ( she's in her 40's, dark hair, medium skin tone) or a number of items eg nail colours. I like the idea of quirky Korean or Japanese brands but that maybe more my thing than hers. I need to be able to buy it online. Budget is around £50. Please help....beauty is not really my thing.

A Charlotte Tilbury palette? Ultra glamorous and relatively niche. Or Marc Jacobs - only recently stocked in the UK.

Bobbi brown have just launched some new palettes. The London one looks especially good. Not sure of price though sorry.

Have a look at Lisa Eldridge's blog for ideas of brands and gifts. She really likes Korean beauty but also British brands so I could be a place look.

Yeah India Knight was raving about both the Charlotte Tilbury and the BB London palette recently wasn't she? ( secretly want those myself). Good suggestions thanks. Lisa Eldridge is new to me so will check her out too. Thanks

I'd avoid Korean brands for makeup as the quality isn't really there but not the Japanese. Suqqu (at Selfridges) do some gorgeous palettes but I'm not sure how far £50 will stretch there, Shu Uemura is equally exciting.

Surratt at Liberty's is also pretty special and difficult to get elsewhere.

However, if she's into Mac, Clinique, and Benefit it might be that her tastes would gear more towards Too Faced, Urban Decay, possibly the Hourglass Ambient Palettes or Becca highlighters, especially if she's an avid youtube watcher/blog follower.

Ooh yes an Urban Decay Naked palette would make a great gift. Or Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder.

How about this? I was just talking about ageing products from Asia with my friends the other day and they said Nlighten ( brand) is a thing in S. Korea & Philippines.

I bought their premium beauty soap and actually I kind of like it, bit expensive but I think it is because it's imported.

If you don't mind ordering online then try to track down the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. Try //www.rosesbeautystore.com which is where I got mine, it is a bit of a cult product just now but really wearable.
