Ugh blonde, downy, fur-face out of control

I am very fair haired and fair skinned and I have the most horrible furry face at the moment! I swear it's getting worse as I get older.

What can I do to get rid of it please? I've had lip and chin waxes at the salon, but this is all over my fecking cheeks and jaw too, so short of waxing my entire visage I don't really know what to do.

People who I'm close enough to complain to about it have said it isn't noticeable as it's so fair, but... it is. At least I think so.

What to do? Any ideas?

To make things difficult, I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment so I can't really justify frequent / expensive trips to the beauty salon.

Any advice much appreciated. TIA.

Hi Stevie I know how you feel, I have the same problem.
Not so much cheeks but blonde, fluffy moustache and beard.
I can recommend the Philips HP6390/10 Facial Precision Trimmer, £16.99 from Amazon. (Apologies can't do links).
I have been using this every couple of weeks for a few months and have found it really works well.

I have this too. Bastard peach fuzz only mine has the cheek to throw in the odd dark hair too, for shits and giggles Angry.

If I jolen it all to one uniform lightness, it catches the light and looks like a beard & mutton chops (ffs), if I trim it with a face strimmer it gives me cystic acne (double ffs).

I have the Phillips IPL thing but it is no good on fair hair (great on my legs/pits/personals) and you have to trim/shave first (so back to the zits issue).

Dermaplaning? The shaving thing. I've not tried it myself but it gets rave reviews, and is good for exfoliation. Lisa Eldrige has a good video on it on YouTube.

Just shave it! We women are conditioned to have such a weird attitude to shaving our faces, we can shave everything else though Confused

I've got a blonde downy hair and it had gotten thicker and was very visible, I've tried everything and after waking up with red sore skin yet again the next time I shaved it off while in the bath. I didn't immediately grow a bushy black beard and moustache and it didn't grow back thicker.

Now my face looks shit loads thinner, my skin looks great and my foundation goes on so much better.

Once about every 10 days I run over it again, it takes about 30 seconds.

Agree with shaving it! I have quite a few due to an old eating problem and after reading about models shaving I tried it. Go DOWN the length not against it though and your makeup stays on brilliantly afterwards.

It doesn't grow back stubbly and I probably do mine once every fortnight to month or so - when I remember!

natty would you recommend the IPL - value for money?

Yep, if there was a better way men would be doing it!

anne, it works well on my skintone body & hair colour combo (fair-light skin, dark hair) but you do have to keep it up to see lasting effects.

Stevie honestly you won't look back, use a gentle hand and moisturise after. I couldn't stop looking at how much thinner my face looked

I've just bought some women's facial razors from Amazon! Who knew such a thing existed?! It's a whole new world. Will report back.

Has anyone used the special women's ones before btw or just normal razors?

I have the same problem and I go to the threading/waxing shops. £12 for a full face. I do it every 6 weeks. The fur drives me mad. Overtime it really reduces the regrowth.

lainey that's quite good for £12. There is a salon local to me which will do full face threading, but it's £26! Thought that was a but much really and would drive me mad if they missed a bit / left me all rashy.

I'm South London so there are lots of little threading shops near me mainly run by Indian ladies. They are excellent and so quick.

I have similar fluff, but not too much. But I don't want to shave.

My amazing women's razor things arrived and I think I love them. The fuzz is gone and my skin looks so, so much better. I was a bit Shock at how much seemed to come off! A lot of fuzz... I guess the acid test will be how it grows back and whether my skin gets irritated by it. Will report back.

Thanks all who suggested it!
