Castor oil is making my eyelashes grow like a mo'fo

I bought some castor oil to rub on my eyebrows in a bid to encourage them to grow a bit more. And it's working. But slowly.

A couple of weeks ago I started slapping a bit on my eyelashes too. Much quicker results. My eyelashes were always quite long but now they're almost Bambi like.

Good stuff.

Right, I'm buying some for my over-plucked, far too thin eyebrows. Thanks for the tip! Sorry for sounding thick but where do you buy it, and when do you apply it?

I bought mine on ebay. Only cost a fiver or so.

I put in on before going to bed. Castor oil is very thick and gloopy so you wouldn't want to put it on first thing in the morning.

Oh yeah I love this stuff!

I use it on eyelashes and eyebrows. I also used it on my scalp to help my hair loss, it made it grow back quicker. I would sometimes apply (using a thoroughly washed out hair dye bottle with the small nozzle to get it directly to the roots/scalp) and wrap it in a turbie towel and sleep in it. It was pretty messy though! Took a lot of shampoo-ing out.

I even buy a clear mascara and squirt a bit into the tube and apply to my eyelashes on a morning to keep them conditioned under mascara. (Only works with a good waterproof mascara, otherwise smudgy mess.)

I love castor oil.

I use Vaseline in the same way. Eyebrows and eyelashes every night. I look like an extra from Star Trek at bedtime with big evil surprise sticky eyebrows but it works.

Oil cleansing seems to help too!

You can buy castor oil from any pharmacy. Cheap as chips.

Also sold on Amazon.

Oooh placemarking. Except not sure if more eyelashes are a good thing, if they're blonde. Sad

This is the one I use but sounds like eBay one is just as effective!

Ineed Grin I see your Star Trek sticky evil brows and raise you evil-medusa-swamp-hair-creature lol

Took about a month before I noticed a difference, suddenly began getting lots of compliments on my 'mascara'!

I do eyelashes/brows every night, and I think I did the scalp mask about 3 x per week or when I could be arsed Used Head & Shoulders to wash it out (two washes) then conditioned ends as normal. I remember slathering it all over every inch of my hair and that was a mistake as it just became a greasy sloppy mess and would dry the ends out because I had to wash them so much! That's how I developed the hair dye bottle technique, just reaches the roots nicely.

Biotin and Msm made my hair grow fast, but it never encouraged it to grow for me, iyswim.

I discovered it when reading about the after effects of an mc. It's packed full of fatty acids, particularly ricinoleic acid. It does lots of awesome things when applied externally but can't remember off top of my head and can't be bothered to google Haven't come across any significant downsides to using externally.

I can't believe how much money I used to waste on magic eyelash growing mascaras that didn't even work! Shock

If you use castor oil for hair regrowth do you put it on and then wash it off? Or does it sink in a bit?

Blatant place mark. I have another thread about hair loss from the crown that is getting worse. Please kindly could you give a bit more info in using it on your hair/scalp?!

You can get Jamaican castor oil from Amazon. It stinks though. Also from shops that stock hair products for afro Caribbean hair.
