What's gone wrong Beachy??

Ta for lovely new thread - here's to hoping for fewer awful medical emergencies...

Just nipped in to say - I love the title for the new crepey thread. Grin

Thanks for the new thread, Beachy. Fab title, MrsS. Grin What are they doing at the party, Beachy? Have to say I ended up Quite Cross late last night, but then felt better once they all went, one of them very drunk indeed, but funny, and pathetically grateful for my indulgence. Hope yours isn't too bad.

Thank heavens, I was worried I'd have to come up with a new title, and after half a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and a Limoncello, it wasn't going to end well.

What's the issue, Beachy?? By the way, I understand our mutual friend's DD is going to the same college as DS.

Oh thank goodness! I have had no internet all day (vokunteering all day and Internet broke at home while I was out) and can't load big threads on my phone, can only read the odd post so have missed loads. Been sitting here willing you all to list cakes or something to fill the thread Smile

And I have been busting to say to Rudy that I am glad the immediate crisis is over and I am crossing everything for a smooth recovery for your lovely boy. Please say at any point if a box of random DVDs or paperbacks or anything like that would help, for any of you. And I hope you can all get some rest this weekend.

Auriga, losing the lost gardens made me snort on the bus.

Beachy, hope party calms down.

CV, excellent on the job. I think it sounds great actually - your skills being recognised but you still get decent work life balance, if I am reading you right?

Anxiety - very hard. Dd had so much of it when little that it was actually unmanageable. School, home, sleep, shops, people. Nothing we did or didn't do seemed to help. She is much better now has says what helped is doing things that pushed her and give her confidence but didnt make her seize up (and BTM you are right, it is not the things you would predict). The confidence then transfers to anxiety-inducing stuff, she reckons. these days, I tend just to help her with stuff that makes her anxious as calmly and quickly as possible, given generally it seems to be getting better, so she can move on. But that probably only works because what she needs is now not much. I dunno. But stropps, I understand your worries and I always think it sounds like you balance it all. it is a stressful time for anyone....hang on in there.

Good idea, Lalsy, about DVDs and paperbacks. Just say the word, Rudy. I'd love to see what a crepey collection would look like.

What is happening at the party, Beachy? Drunken chundering? Shagging? Drugs? Random girls crying?

Report
Collymollypuff · 03/09/2016 00:38

Smokers trashing your garden? Smokers trashing your neighbour's garden? Smokers waking up next door's kids by SHOUTING in the garden? Smokers setting off the fire alarm when told to smoke in the kitchen instead?

Report
Collymollypuff · 03/09/2016 00:42

(Sorry, bit of an anti-smoker rant there...just that they are so new to it, they can't, apparently, handle it Hmm ) And I'm pretty sure it was just tobacco as well.

They've all gone Grin yup, there was chundering, shouting, some smoking, some oik telling me to F**k off ( big mistake, big mistake)..... Lots of girls with very small bra tops and heels Smile

Having a quiet glass of wine now to calm down....

Luckily none of it in the house, but ds has a mean day ahead of him tomorrow, armed with Jif and rubber gloves!

Good to hear about mutual friend, CV. I know yesterday was decision day re: college.

Glad you survived. Grin My lot never got as far as telling me to F off - I was close to saying that to them though. Good luck to your ds with the cleaning.

Blackduck · 03/09/2016 07:02

Oh Beachy someone dared to tell you to F off Shock. - guess they are uninvited next time..........I hope none of them upset the dogs (looks fierce - very protective of those dogs). On balance you could have lost both - do and dniece would have taken the daft mutt whilst ds and I would have had the lovely lady....

Oh yes Rudy anything we can send? Probably could keep you in books for a while.

CV good news on the college front. Glad ds is sorted.
Here DDad seems okay - lonely mainly - but think it's doing him good to have a change of scene.

Checking in. Brilliant thread title!

Off up to Aged Ps for the day. Taking DS, though he did whine 'do I HAVE to?' earlier. Well, he's. They love seeing him, and it won't be for long. And I'll bribe him with a trip to the playground. And... I spend 90% of my life doing stuff for him, so it's payback time.

As a reward for my duties, we're having a friend round for dinner, and DP is cooking. Quite what, we don't yet know.

Will catch up in a bit. Of the three dresses this is the best. The others fitted but weren't so flattering. I need to be spanxed and trussed up like a xmas turkey though... No breathing allowed

GGG, go up to the top of the car park to Franks Bar. You may have to queue (better around 4/5pm, or if it's raining I guess!), but the views are fabulous Smile

Rose that was the dress I liked best Wink - looks great!

Beachy Shock Was it someone you (or your DS) knew? Lots of good reasons not to host a teenage party!

Rudy how is DS today? And how are you?

I am rather hungover this morning - was still drinking after 1am at friends belated 50th last night, where usually I stop by 12, but it was a good night. Had forgotten that it is actually my birthday today till I came downstairs to cards, etc (including one with a lovely message in it from DD)
And we are off to another friends belated 50th this afternoon - think I will be needing a hair of the dog!
Sadly I now have the "Reading cough" - completely lost my voice by the time we got home this morning, just in time for return to school Hmm

Thank you for the new thread, Beachy. Can't believe someone told you to F off. Awful. Did you give as good as you got? Reminds me of that Crown court judge earlier in summer. She sent the defendant to prison and he shouted that she was a bit of a c, to which she replied "you're a bit of a c yourself" Shock. Whilst she has been praised in the press for speaking in a way the defendant might understand, the Bar Standards Board aren't quite seeing it like that....

Rudy, hope you are feeling a bit better. How is ds today? Any word on when he might be home? Would love to send you a wee something to cheer you.

Crem, how is your dad doing? How is your ma bearing up?

Rose, that was my favourite dress. You look stunning. It really suits you.

Just been lady skipping in the garden, much to the hilarity of next door's children. Now need to label those uniforms.

Strictly tonight. Who else will be watching?
