Could you help me find a dress please?

Hi All,

Am useless with clothes and have a wedding to attend next month - I need to find a dress to wear but need some help please!

I think I would prefer something fairly fitted and I don't really do patterns or bright colours, but am willing to try! Am a 12-14, 5'8'' pale skinned, dark haired and 39. I have john Lewis and other big stores fairly nearby, as would prefer to try on.

Have looked online at Coast, etc but I spend most of my time in jeans, very unsure of where to start. Any pointers would be appreciated, thank you!
