Are Ash high tops worth the hefty price tag?

Just that really. I really fancy a pair of the Virgins in grey, but am baulking at the £120 cost. Sales are on but they are all 3s or 8s, neither of which will fit.

TIA

They look good but don't last if you walk a lot. The soles wear very quickly so if you are tough on shoes (eg over probate) I say not.

I've had a pair for 3 years, weekend wear, soles starting to thin now.

I wear mine in winter and wear converse in summer.

I was dying to get a pair. I wear mine in winter and converse/toms in summer so I am hopeful mine won't wear out ever...

But while I like them and wear them, I can't see myself buying a second pair when the inevitable happens.

Thanks all for your answers. I think I might take the plunge, I really want some and I'm sure they will make me happy. Grin

I wore mine out, wouldn't buy again

No. They're absolutely not. And despite my general profligacy, I wouldn't buy them again.

I love my Virgins - very comfortable .wouldn't mind another pair in pewter.

I've had two pairs (grey and beige). I love them but agree that they don't last long if you wear them everyday.

I love mine. They usually last a couple of years of daily wear from Autumn to spring. I always search the sales though and have never paid more than £80

They're great, if you don't walk in them any distance!

Not worth the money.

I had to respond- I had a "distressed silver metallic" pair for about 5 years. I didn't wear them daily, but did wear them regularly and loved them. I threw them out prematurely and regretted it. The silver went with everything....

Oh, I agree- they're only as comfortable as converse.

I think they're more comfy than converse as they're wider and the leather gives more.
But that's because I've got fat feet!

Like the others have said, the sole isn't that hardwearing. I wore mine regularly for about 2 years and… [shocked] I soldiered on wearing them on days it wouldn't rain but being in Scotland that never really happened. So I binned them last year. Wouldn't buy again even though I love the style.

My old pair of Converse lasted 7 years (regular wear/tear abuse, i.e., walking a lot in them) before I felt that dreaded dampness in my feet when the sole started to give in.

Clarks did a look-a-like for small girls. DD2 had a pair in silver. Was sad to see them go. She looked much better in them than I did in mine. Agree some swear thin quick.

If anyone is still looking for Ash Virgins at a more reasonable price check out this website:

here

Mine have just arrived today, I ordered 2 pairs as I was unsure about sizing, they definitely come up big and I'm keeping the smaller pair, didn't even bother trying them in my usual size. I ordered the perish colour and they are a much nicer colour irl than they look on screen. On screen they look brown but they are definitely grey.

I do not work this company honestly and my trainers are definitely the real mccoy.

Oops just checked the website and the good colours are back at full price, sorry Blush
