This one .... anyone have it? How does it wear and are you happy with it?

Basically, a 'yes' or 'no'!

Thx

It's a Yes from me Wink
Beautiful, discrete mulberry bag, it's all about the design and the leather, the branding is low key. Easy and comfortable to wear as it sits really nicely on the shoulder or on elbow. The small grain leather is hard wearing and great for everyday. It's easy to get into (once you get the hang of the clasp) and holds loads. The oxblood colour is practically a classic now for mulberry, along with oak and chocolate. This is the second thread tonight for me discussing the virtues of mulberry bags...happy days!

I love a nice bag and happy to fork out for it but that's a lot of dosh for something a bit dull. Sorry.

Not seen this one before, it's gorgeous (and the oxblood colour is so pretty).

It's lovely. I don't have this bag but do have a similar Gucci hobo and it's extremely practical as you can fit a good amount in. Also really like being able to wear it on the shoulder to keep hands free.

I might get this one too. The I oxblood is a versatile colour.

Thank you ... for opinions both positive and negative. Yours is especially enabling Serenite. I'm on the lookout for a tan bag but have long wanted an oxblood bag and this is just so lovely. I think it will come home with me tonight. Now off to find the other Mulberry thread!

I don't have one but it looks really gorgeous!

If it is oxblood you are wanting, the mini kite in oxblood is also gorgeous.

I have this bag and it's great. Was wary of oxblood colour (was birthday gift from dh which he chose himself) but have found it really versatile. The bag itself is a good size- it can fit plenty in but isn't cumbersome, but what I love most is that it isn't too ostentatiously Mulberry IYSWIM. Go for it!

Thank you .... I bought it! Haven't taken it out since I got home but will gaze at it tomorrow! Tossed up between it and an oak Bayswater in store but really the Bayswater is too big and the Tessie sits much better on my shoulder allowing me to have hands free. Love it!

A note to anyone thinking about a Bayswater - they're increasing in price in a week or so. Not the new edition (oh they are gorgeous, suede lined and beautifully finished) but the original version.

That bag is gorgeous and not actually a ridiculous price compared to some. I want one ...

Me too brilliana Mulberry get a bit of a slating on here but I think they are lovely bags.

They lost a lot of goodwill during the years of transparently cynical price hikes and Cara Delevingne backpacks (no, me neither) but I think they're re-connecting with the core customer.

Congratulations and health to enjoy it! Am sitting here eating my toddler's party rings Grin living vicariously through your shopping! Seriously though, it's a beautiful handbag and one I can't see you regretting buying. Ox blood is a fabulous colour, a new neutral and will go with anything. I understand about not opening it too - after I buy a bag I always leave it for a while before I open it (possibly just for the guilt to wear off!) I once left a very ++ precious bag under the crib in the kitchen for a few months and in new baby haze forgot about it. Your bag has a longer handle drop so will be more comfortable on the shoulder; the Bayswater slightly less so, especially with winter clothes. Be sure to spray it before you use it - got to look after a nice bag! Enjoy x

I also do that serenite, there's something about unwrapping a new bag a while after you've bought it when you're ready.

Hope you enjoy it OP! I would love a new Mulberry, I like the mini Kite in navy (which was down to £450 in the summer sale but I dithered and missed it) but maybe I should consider the Tessie Hobo, it looks beautiful.

I'm embarrassed to say that it's still sitting in the hall in the bag! Yesterday was hectic and today the dc are back to school and I'm trying to blitz the house. I want to sit quietly and enjoy unwrapping it without thinking that I have something else Imshould be doing!

Dancer - the mini Kite is lovely. There will be another sale in December Grin!

liftthatup - I apologise, I what to reply to you the other night! Am reassured that someone else has, and loves, the bag! One think I like about it is how discrete the hardware is - just the mini fastening and that's it. I think it's a lovely, elegant bag and the colour is super, will go with almost everything.

Serenite - thanks for the advice to spray it! I bought the spray in HoF so have no excuses! You're right about the handle drop - and the Bayswater would have been too roomy for my needs.

Is the mini kite much smaller than the Tessie hobo?

Report
PollysPoppy · 01/09/2016 11:00

Have only seen and admired it online but checking out the measurements on JL it's actually slightly bigger. Mini kite is h32 x w36 x d24.5 (seems awfully deep) and Tessie is 28x32x11. John Lewis have two black Kites left, Mulberry don't have them!

I know, I was in the Mulberry shop in Westfield about a month ago and they didn't have the navy blue which was the one I really wanted.

Is it crocodile leather stop? Very jealous!

Is oxblood a dark purple or more burgundy?

It is the crocodile leather. The colour is burgandy/maroon - def not purple. Dh bought it as anniversary present for me and I love it.

StopMakingMeLogOn · 01/09/2016 19:14

I do think it is massively expensive though. I have a Coach bag which cost less and is just as good in terms of quality, although I do think the oxblood colour is hard to top, but then maroon is my favourite colour.

Serenite · 01/09/2016 19:42

The oxblood colour will vary depending on the the leather. The natural vegetable tanned leather used in the Bayswater will look a little darker, burgundy-ish compared to a smooth calf leather. It'll also change depending on the light and how the bag has been cared for as its worn. I think it's anice change from oak as a good neutral colour but oak is quintessentially mulberry. I love how it changes colour as its worn (actually don't like a new oak bag) and develops the patina on the leather. Oxblood won't have the same unique wearing colour change but I've found it darkens as its used and if you use plenty of nourishing cream, almost gets a bit glossy.
