First bra for dd

Dd is 11 and think would benefit from a bra. Just measured her and get 28 under bust and 33 over bust. The modern bra size calculator is saying 28dd. That can't be right can it?? I can't even find that size in M&S! Help?!

So I know the 'modern' way isn't to do the "add 4 to chest measurement to find chest size for a bra". Why buying got myself I mean sure the modern way.

But my DD (nearly 12, been in bras for 2 years) hates a tight chest band. So we do add extra onto her actual chest measurement to get her bra chest size.

Best bet is to take her somewhere and try on. She needs to feel comfy in her first bras.

Also worth bearing in mind that advise is to make it fit on the widest fastening, because over time the elastic stretches do you need to be able to make the bra tighter.

However my DDs bra size is constantly changing. Her bras are grown out of when hardly worn before they've had any chance to lose stretchyness.

So get bras that fit comfortably now (or even consider that her chest size may grow within a month or two) rather than thinking like an adult who's already finished growing.

I found m and s angels to be great for my dd .plus easy to exchange size up etc when necessary. My dd would rather die than step inside a changing room Wink

M & S have a rubbish range of sizes though. They certainly won't have 28 D or DD

Dd is a 30dd, debenhams tend to have a good range.

Dd has just changed from 28 D/DD to 30D (she's 14) & we always go to JL
