Repairing Jeans Tear

I ordered a pair of jeans from one of those sale sites. They arrived torn though - not fashionably ripped, and too high up in the thigh.

They refunded me for this and they didn't require me to send the item back.

Is there any way I can repair this other than just sewing the fabric together?
