no one gave a fuck.

I noted a woman who was about size 26 resplendent in a lovely turquoise two piece laughing with her pals. a woman with stretch marks a go go in a yellow bikini, me with my undulating tummy, and all of us were enjoying the sun
The best looking seziest woman was a young one of about 24 - probably a size 16, really curvy with a lovely bikini on and just looked fantastic.

DONT COVER UP! We shouldnt have to apologise for our bodies!

Indeed!

Amen to that

JackandDiane Tue 16-Aug-16 20:47:58

Sarongs btw NO! they make you look huge
just GET IT OUT and stop hiding.

JackandDiane Tue 16-Aug-16 20:48:31

oh loads of scars too. ( Can you tell i was by myself?!)

Trills Tue 16-Aug-16 20:50:39

Yay for people enjoying themselves.

Trills Tue 16-Aug-16 20:51:16

Sarongs are for draping over bits of you that have got a bit pinker than you intended. Any light scarf will do.

i always feel funny about my tum
seeing these other women made me think fuck it, more robustly

JackandDiane Tue 16-Aug-16 20:51:56

they do look bad though. Not many can tie them so that you dont look like you have a duvet cover over you.

Trills Tue 16-Aug-16 20:52:53

I feel better about my tummy when it is in a bikini than when it is cut in half by a waistband and therefore bulging both sides.

JackandDiane Tue 16-Aug-16 20:55:50

I have this bikini and i LOVE it. I am not sure if black bikinis suit many

this is me obvs

I was one of the people who couldn't tie a sarong. But I'm a sucker for pretty fabric to cover shoulders or sit on. Getting a coconut buckle free with a batik sarong last year was a revelation. I can secure the sarong in loads of ways and forget about it. I recommend them.

JackandDiane Tue 16-Aug-16 20:57:55

these were around thighs

Totally agree on both the letting it go and the sowrongs.

I use those scarfy things you wear in autumn etc. Much lighter than a sarong.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea Tue 16-Aug-16 21:24:17

Agree completely. Have spent the last three days at the beach and have seen wobbly bits, knobbly bits, scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, the lot. All irrelevant when you see people playing with their kids, enjoying the sunshine and the sea.

JohnCheese Tue 16-Aug-16 22:08:29

Yip, totally agree.
Nothing more awkward-looking than someone trying to hide bits of themselves. What's even more awkward looking is those with near 'perfect' bodies desperately hiding bits and not enjoying themselves. For what. And the ironic thing is that it just draws more attention to them, not less.
Wear the bikini and enjoy the day.
